CRaP 2015 3/4/5 July. New Venue

Post by Peter-S »

Probably most of you have seen reference to CRaP, our annual social camping/bbq weekend. Previously held at Marston Moretaine it will this year be in the village of Molesworth near Huntingdon, just off A14.
It's being held in a field adjacent to a nice rural family run country pub that serves food and also does takeaways :)
Loos on site, £6 per tent or caravan per night.

Pub website is here:
http://www.thecrosskeysmolesworth.co.uk/

This is more of a relaxed social event than a car show where you can get to properly meet forum members and unwind for a day or two.

The pub does do B&B but only has vacancies for Friday night.

Pre booking is not essential but we would like some idea of people coming so perhaps you would let me know if you hope to be there.

Hi peter put me and my mum down as a definite we can't miss the best weekend of the year. hopefully ill be driving the capri if all goes well on my theory and driving tests. the new venue looks fantastic a nice improvement on marston moretaine. ive just been on there web site and its ticking all the boxes for me. it looks a lovely traditional english pub with a great sounding menu. theres darts, pool in there and theres toilet and shower facilities as theres a massive 9 acker camp site opposite the pub so lots of room for us with our capri's and tents etc and room for other campers. the location is perfect for us as its closer for us not as far to go and my nans house is 30 miles away in cottenham cambridge so straight down the A14 on the sunday afternoon to visit and stay with her. we will probably go down the A5 joining it at tamworth then cut across to A14 nice simple route to get there. it should be a fantastic weekend as always with great people and great cars. how did you find it pete, i can't wait. :D  :ford:

Well done to Peter for finding a new venue with the necessary facilities on site. The pub has a pool table!

There is now plenty of notice for this event, lets have the biggest CRaP ever!

Nice work finding the venue and thanks for taking the time to get it sorted :!:

Stick my name on the list, it'll give me more incentive to sort out the leak on the stat housing, one or two other jobs & put some road tax on it.

That's my SUMMER HOLIDAY arranged :D

Hi,

What a fantastic venue ! Just been looking at it. Looks well nice. Lovely area too.

I have just checked my bus rota and I am down working that whole weekend, am off the following weekend instead :( Don't know whether I can change it nearer the time but will keep you guys informed. I will try my best as I really wanted to attend CRaP at some stage this year...

All the best

Nick

Nick,
Can you take a small detour over the bridge to pick me up on the bus?

You'd need to be patient, Ceredigion to Cambs is about 5 hours in a car, by bus it would take days :D

No Paul...it is because I am a professional driver and really do always have the safety and comfort of my wonderful passengers at heart each and every day I put on my uniform...if you believe this.......

:drive: :boxing: :swear: :wank:   :axe: ... now this is more like my average working day "on the buses in North London" :)

Paul, don't get me started mate...especially not here anyway on Peters CRaP thread.

And back to this, I really wanted to attend at least a couple of days this year but know I gonna find it hard to get the time off. The missus has me booked in to build a truck load of Ikea flatpack bedroom furniture too at some stage so what with this and work I think I am flogging a dead horse...

CRaP looked really really good last year from the pictures I seen, especially Glyn replacing that clutch while the beers seemed to be flowing from the "support crew"...now that's what I call a proper Capri social

I will still keep trying to even get there for a day if I can but wont know till nearer the time. I hope that I can....

hi me and mum went to see this beautiful place last saturday in the capri as we went and saw my nan in cambridge from saturday to tuesday as we hadn't seen her in a while and there was a car show going on in her village where she lives. so we popped to molesworth while we were on the way to my nans being as we go down the A14 to my nans and thought why not have a look at what the place is like as it wasn't much of a detore off the A14. it looks a great venue to have CRaP its in a lovely little village with an RAF base up the road the cross keys pub looks great and typically english. the camp site looks great and so inviting its right next to the pub and theres a lot of room on it, i cant wait for CRaP this year its going to be great. :D
