Re: New Forum Software
Andrew, I think the annoying scrolling one is a 'hot topic' indicator - i.e. more than a set number of replies. I'm guessing 20 or 25.

Re: New Forum Software
Is it that the stars mean it's a thread you have contributed to? Any idea how to recognise a thread that you have read/visited. On the good old forum it would become de-highlighted once you have read/clicked on it.

Re: New Forum Software
I don't think that's right, as I have just clicked on, and read a few topics but they stay red.peers.dupp wrote: I now understand that if the icon is red it means that there are posts that I haven't read, but what about the scrolling and the stars? Anyone know?
Edit - you have to refresh the page then they change colour.

Thanks Peter,Peter-S wrote:Andrew, I think the annoying scrolling one is a 'hot topic' indicator - i.e. more than a set number of replies. I'm guessing 20 or 25.
You appear to be spot on. The number of replies seems to be 25 to classify a topic as "hot".
Yes! Brilliant, thanks Paul. All of my questions answered, I am annoyed no more!pbar wrote:Is it that the stars mean it's a thread you have contributed to?

Re: New Forum Software
Will the original home page stuff re-appear in some form with the technical write ups etc that the original forum owner Mark Swetnam wrote? They were really handy to have for doing certain jobs rather than having to search through loads of threads.
I think that they may all be on the capriwiki, so maybe a link to that instead?

cheers,

I agree, they were a handy guide to common servicing jobs.
They're all still at the same web address, there just don't seem to be links to those pages from this forum.

Re: New Forum Software
Yes links will be added when I get a chance to revise the template. The wiki and laser page main site are still at their original addresses (as posted above). Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciate this default theme is a bit bland, but most importantly it is working whereas the old software and theme had many bugs which causes issues for new users signing up. I'm glad to hear this is working much better for mobile users too.
I will try to get updates to the style done over the next week. The problem is my schedule is set day by day so planning my time is very difficult at the moment. It's onwards and upwards from here though.

Re: New Forum Software
Oooh, good question. I'm pretty sure that scrolling means it's a "hot topic" - i.e. it's had lots of posts recently. The star means you have posted in the thread yourself.
