Hi,
Yes, I read about this. I guess it was lucky that the car had been sold and was due to be shipped abroad, otherwise it would probably never have been recovered. Returned to the original owner 46 years after it had been stolen!

Hi i live in birmingham literally down the road from great barr in kingstanding. sorry to hear its been stolen i would hate that to happen to me. i think ive seen this capri going round my area and great barr before or it was a similar one i keep seeing a matte black capri with a massive spoiler and capri written in a massive white letters on the boot. ill keep an eye out for it as im always spotting capri's around i saw a nice red A reg 1.6 LS the other day in castle bromwich. i was in my mum's zafira beeping the horn when i saw it and sticking my thumbs up. i bet he thought we was nuts i do hope this stolen capri gets found again.
When in my 20s I had a Capri 3 litre gear that was stolen it was found minus the stereo and door speakers
They had rifled through the car but no other damage .
The boys in blue found it parked up on the kerb under a lamp post .
Always hope.
Looking at the pics and the numberplate. I actually know where the car is and the guy who took it is a guy I used to work with (Simon Cox).
I'f you could reply that would be great as I would love to help re-unite the capri with its rightful owner.

Does this post mean that the location of the stolen car and the alleged thief are known? Surely first call should be to the police?
If the the owner or any of you wants to call the police the thiefs name is Simon Cox and he lives at
Shed Food and Drink @ countryside park
A4025, Crossway green, Stourport
DY13 9SE
Nope. I was not going to report it to the police because:
- I do not have personal knowledge that the car is there
- I do not have personal knowledge that the individual referred to stole the vehicle or even has it
- If the named individual does have it, I do not have personal knowledge as to how he came to have it. He could have bought it unknowingly
- I am not in any way suggesting that there is anything afoot, but I have a lot of professional experience of people making allegations against others for a number of reasons, mistakenly sometimes
If it was me that had seen the car and knew what had gone on, I would have reported it personally. It is down to the former owner to act on the information provided or the holder of the information to report it to the police
Not really. What would any right-minded person do if they knew the whereabouts of a stolen car and also knew the name of the alleged perpetrator? Would they go to the police or plaster the allegation all over a public forum? I rest my case.
Hi all I am the owner of the stolen Capri
I only came across this post today
A brave guy from Stourport handed the same information as Leafy to myself in April of this year.
Sadly the car had been stripped bare the week before and the remains crushed flat with a hiab.
It is a pity nobody contacted the police with this info earlier or myself for that matter as it may have saved my pride and joy.
Shortly after the car was stolen I was involved in a car crash and have lost the use of my left side.
All my money has been spending on surviving
This is the last car I will ever own now.
All the info Leafy gave was correct and Simon Cox has been involved in the theft of a further 12 vehicles since.
Very disappointing to find nobody contacted myself or the police
Who are the real trolls?
Very d

With all due respect, surely if you`re going to blame anybody, it would be `Leafy`. Why is the responsibility with us rather than people who have actual information (as opposed to `heresay`).
As you only joined the forum today we could hardly have contacted you directly?
Still very, very sorry about the outcome.
Also very sorry to hear about all of this. To be fair your friend that posted this in the first place didn't tell you or follow it up either, despite it being out here a year ago. I had no idea who Leafy was, or whether he was on the level. I encouraged him to report what he purportedly knew and he did not. Surely, the last people in line for scolding are the forum members.
