Coolest Doors ?

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

Hi.

Anyone think that these doors may even be cooler than the DeLorean DMC-12 ?

Or should I be seeking medical advice for even thinking this in the first place :)

If anyone got any further contestants feel free......

All the best

Nick :)

Hi Nick,
I agree. I've only ever seen one Z1 being driven on the road, and it caused quite a stir when the driver parked and got out.
Useful for getting out of the car after parking in one of those tiny car park spaces where there is not enough space to open a traditional door.

Andrew,

Do you mean that you agree they may be cooler than the DMC-12...or that I need to seek medical advice

Mate I watched the Wheeler Dealers BMW Z1 Episode last night. Had a load recorded on my TiVo box. Not seen this one before.

Very funny moment when Edd China was "unbolting" the body panels to be resprayed from yellow back to the original red. He quoted BMW as saying that "an experienced mechanic should be able to remove all the body panels in approx. 40mins"...it actually took Edd 6 hours, and he uses Teng tools as well

I think I meant that I agree about the Z1 doors being cooler than the DeLorean!

Although in my opinion the coolest Door was Jim Morrison :)

If anyone is interested, there are only 116 Z1s still registered.

Nice one Andrew, Mr Morrison was pretty cool weren't he... but an even cooler door is my fridge/freezer one. Its gets very cool indeed :)

Crikey, they are mega rare. I certainly never seen one myself. Would love to see the "disappearing" door doing its stuff. Amazingly cool !

I have to admit they are some pretty sexy doors, not sure they'd look good on much else in all fairness, wouldn't say they were as cool and a delorean but they are much more practical!
