coloured fan belts

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

Hi.

Not that I am necessarily thinking of getting one myself , but today I was just wondering if fan belts are available in different colours ?

The fan belt is easily seen on a pinto engine so maybe some owners might want to dress it up a bit, after all you can get coolant hoses and ht leads in different colours other than black, and people do spray up the cam belt cover and radiator splash shield too.

Just a thought ??

All the best,

Nick

Hi,
I've seen them in several different shades of grey/black. Does that count? ;)

I've never seen them around. I think a coloured fanbelt with coloured silicone hoses etc would be too much for my tastes.

Andrew.

Yes mate. You got a very good point there. It would be a bit over the top if the coolant hoses, cam cover, ht leads, rad splash shield AND fanbelt were all blue !! Oh and the windscreen wash and coolant/antifreeze in expansion tank too....

But suppose could be to some peoples tastes.

Those silicone hoses look great quality. Think I will get a set next year.....in black ;)

All the best

I've only seen a coloured belt on a supra that had a clear timing cover. It was bright pink I think and it worked quite well with that car. It was overshadowed by a turbo bigger than the engine though.
Since I got a capri I've said "over the moon" a lot more than ever before.
