Hi,
I wouldn't have thought that doing it yourself is a good idea, especially on the larger panels. If you manage to get just one wrinkle in the vinyl sheet it wouldn't look good. The video makes the vinyl look really hard to apply.
I have to admit that the flames shown on the video look really good, if you're into that kind of customisation.

the wrap has been put on hold until all old parts are changed and i have the money to get it done

I looked at some youtube videos and it looks quite easy to do yourself. Easier than painting anyway. Just a little bit of prep and a lot of patience. Might do it myself.

Does anyone know the best place to buy the wrap vinyl or whatever it is from?

Hi,
Have a look at this list from the manufacturers:

Most printing companies these days can probably print your design from the computer onto a vinyl sheet. It will be a lot cheaper than the £1000 or so it will cost to get it done professionally. I still say it doesn't look that easy to apply though!

Hi,
Thanks for posting the vid, very interesting. It doesn't say how long it took the guys to do the bonnet, though. They say they've "never really done it before". What does that mean? Either they have or they haven't!
I wonder if the vinyl will stay stuck to the panels on the bits where it is folded and tucked underneath. If care is not taken in this area, I can foresee the vinyl peeling away.

Overall, the guys in the vid have achieved a good result with it!

I think the importance is placed on cleaning. Degreasing and dewaxng the panel so that the vinyl will take. also it sticks on with heat so I guess as long as those parts are heated it's all good.
