On the Capri you mean Peter?
Yep on the Laser. Couldn't get one from Auto Windscreens who they use, so managed to get one new from Pilkington who make them. RH told me just to pay Pilkington and get it fitted professionally and they would reimburse me. They were true to their word and got a cheque from them within a week of sending them the bill.
Can't fault them

Great, thanks for the info. I have often wondered how the standard windscreen insurance would work on the Capri, which most insurance policies have.

Hi,
Last year I needed to arrange insurance in a hurry, so I just got a quotation from the big players and went with the best value.
This year I've got a little more time available to call some of the specialist brokers.
I'll report back later on today when I've made a final decision.
Looking good for saving a load of money on insurance and breakdown cover, which will probably be spent on the car in other ways! :)
All the best,
Andrew.

Hi,
It was a pleasure speaking to you, thanks Ian! :)

If anyone's insurance is due for renewal, I can highly recommend speaking to Ian at Coops Insurance! He's extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about classics in general and Capris in particular. He also owns a beautiful 2.8 injection special, so his choice of car is second to none! 8-)
All the best,
Andrew.

:D ...You guys/n gals aww shucks

Thanks very much indeed greatly appreciated. Yes my name is Ian Reynolds at Coops Insurance although many people know me as Burt. http://www.facebook.com/CoopsInsurance is our Facebook page, go and have a look at the bits that are on there and if you need an insurance quote (on anything house, car, business etc..) give us a call. Classic vehicles are really our thing though so come along and try us...even if it's just once....we don't bite.

Oh and if anyone knows of an old Renault 5 going for sale in or around the Sutton area can they let us know. We want one circa £500 or below so an old 1.1 or 1.4 5 tl, 5 prima etc. Thanks all Ian (aka Burt) :lowrider:

Hi everyone,

Well I'm seconding Andrew's decision with regard to Ian 'Burt' Reynolds at Coops, I've been on the phone with him today and he really is a top bloke, certainly knows his Capris and after an hour or so away to shop around for me he's come up trumps with an unbeatable quote as far as I'm concerned.

Great guy, great service - highly recommended.

Mike.

:o We (Coops Insurance) www.facebook.com/CoopsInsurance have just insured another 'stunning' Capri. I first saw the car at the Ace Cafe and infact it's on the Ace Cafe video. I can't say which one it is just yet, but if you want to have a look at the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AwxpEaEDRQ
A lot of you have already probably seen this video. It's all my own work and I'm quietly proud of this video ;)

Hi,
It is a well-filmed video with stunning cars, and I really enjoyed watching it. Personally, I prefer it with the sound turned off, but that's just me being an old fogey! :)

Well, I'll endorse 'Burt' as well.
Phoned Coops today for the 2.8 and Ian was very helpful and I was more than pleased with the result.
Nice to chat Ian, thanks for your time :D

Blush blush... Thanks very much again. Too kind - really. Thanks
Coops Insurance/I will be at the Westbourne Primary School classic car show (in Sutton Surrey) this Saturday, and the Purley Rotary Club classic car show (at the Rotary Fields in Purley Surrey) this Sunday too. We will bring along the Coops Capri 2.8i and if any of you are in the area please come along. It'd be great to meet you.

I can second that! Spoke to Ian today, FAR quicker than internet form filling, a pleasure to speak with AND undercut by a decent percentage my already low renewal quote from L********. Very pleased, would recommend to give them a try.

Burt saves the day again!! :)
I think the reason that Ian is doing well on this forum is that he knows his onions and, therefore, people are happy to give him the business. The reasonable quotations help too! ;)

Well I certainly know where to go when my Capri insurance is due. Sounds like a really helpful chap and some great feedback from you guys. That's the best sort of recommendation you can get.

And he knows his onions too :D

I bet he can't cut through grease and ground in grime. Limescale and shine.

Hi,
I was too busy discussing no claims bonus, agreed value and salvage rights that I forgot to ask about Burt's ability to cut through grease and ground in grime. :)

Hi Burt,

Is it possible please that you could PM me on here. I have been waiting for my no claims proof from you for almost a month now. I have called several times, and the last time a lady told me that she would have to re-order it and that she would e-mail it to me as well as post it, without delay. But that was two weeks ago.

I am sorry that I have not renewed this time, but my new insurer is repreatedly requesting it, so I really do need it from you.

As well as my calls to the office, I have also e-mailed you, and sent a PM, but thought I would also try on here, as I really cannot keep waiting.

Thanks very much, hope to hear from you soon.
