Here it is again!

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

Hi Everyone,
This looks familiar, not the first time we've seen this on Ebay!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-CAPRI-1- ... 3f30f67f5e

A big hit on the previous price!

All the best,
Andrew.

Hi,
Yes, I'm not sure what's happened to the 3 (I've lost count!) extra owners since November.
I'm dying to know what the story is behind this one. I might pretend I'm interested in it and ask some questions....
All the best,
Andrew.

Andrew I was about to start the same thread - I'm sure this went for 14k+ a couple of times already and as you say has been re-advertised at least another twice? Something's not right ! Also (and I don't know why I haven't seen this before) interesting colour around the O/S bonnet hinge area with the bonnet lifted!

I reported this to eBay, it definitely seems like a scam as its also for sale on a classic site for the same price as the start bid saying that the cars located in stoke on Trent this time though

It's reappeared again tonight - in Whitby now lol - advertised as 'once in a lifetime opportunity', really? This must be the 6th this year

Does make me wonder what the blag is though! Crazy!

Hi,
The mileage of this car must have doubled with all the travelling around the country it is doing!
It clearly is some sort of scam, the different "sellers" always use the original photos and the listing disappears within 24 hours.
I don't see how a scam would work, would anyone instant transfer payment to the seller without seeing the car in person?
All the best,
Andrew.

Hi,
Latest spot in County Antrim, but with a Whitby number.
http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... 1050119667

This car gets around, doesn't it?
Any guesses where it will be for sale next?

All the best,
Andrew.

From memory its for a 'T' reg 1600GL, photos show an immaculate bronze (gold?) car on a gravel driveway, mint interior, supposedly only 6000 miles (I think - I'm sure someone will correct me) as the owner took it off the road when it was a few months old and stored it following advice from the supplying dealer and Ford, so it's billed as the most original Capri you're ever likely to find.

It's nuts though the amount of times it crops up, I really just can't understand what the scam is! Has to be one though!

Check out the car in the original listing:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MUSEUM-QUALIT ... 2ecc86ceb1

I suspect that this original sale was genuine and all the other times the car has appeared for sale afterwards have been a bit iffy.

Here is another low mileage Capri to check out:
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C477959
This one was also for sale just before Christmas on Ebay and sold for under £10K if memory serves. Not a bad mark-up in four months. :swear:

All the best,
Andrew.
