Post by Andrew 2.8i »

Hi everyone,
Have I read this correctly?
£100 + P&P for ONE wheel?
What is the world coming to?
All the best,
Andrew.

They`re listed as `new`, by that he means they`ve not been fitted since he had them painted.... Not my definition. I wonder if the people bidding think they`re new, a full set, or both?
Did you see the NOS parcel shelf last year that went for I think £830?

The parcel shelf did sell. I spoke to the guy who had it and the guy physically paid for it. Madness

Hi,
I suppose that if the guy who bought the parcel shelf absolutely had to have a mint original one he didn't have much choice but to pay that sort of money. Remember that there must also have been an under-bidder who was willing to pay almost as much as well. Unless the price was bid up, but that never happens on Ebay. :sarcasmalert:
That sort of money takes some justifying to the wife, I wonder if the guy also had to spend another £830 to shut her up!
All the best,
Andrew.

You have to remember that, for some people (although I have no idea about the buyers here specifically), money is no object, they may have an abundance of it and have the means to more or less pay whatever they want. £800 to someone like that would be like a fiver to us.

Steve makes a good point about the way the wheels listing is worded. I initially thought it was for a set, and not just the one.

Yes, could end up a very disappointing 'win'.

Hi,
The whole description is incredibly misleading. There are several references to "wheels" , even in the title and the photo does show three wheels. However, the listing specifically states "this auction is for one only".
I also agree with Steve that the description should not say they are new, even if they have not been used since being refurbed.
I do feel sorry for the high bidder. Hopefully he/she will realise their mistake before parting with their cash. As pbar says, it will be a very disappointing win.
All the best,
Andrew.
