Spotted: Capris seen out and about

I think we need a spotted thread or even a page like the QA or rant and rave so that when you see a lovley capri there is a place to share the love. Thoughts?

Ran into a lad last night in northampton with a russo red mk3. Think it started life as a 2l. Now running what I think is a rover 3.5 but he wouldn't tell me. Nice car with some interesting chrome work and white letter tyres.

Hi,
I think that this may be an interesting idea if sightings posted online were regulated properly. However, I do have some reservations. I would not want somebody posting the exact location of my Capri if it was parked my drive, for example. A general location and an objective opinion of the car would be fine.
All the best,
Andrew.

That's a very good point actually, who needs big brother posting about them on the internet.

Agreed. I wouldn't want my address on here but a simple " laquer red laser seen on a45 near Wellingborough. Nice condition " would be fine.

Hi Everyone,
Instead of a spotted thread, would it be a good idea to have a database of members listed by their location. No specific details of an address, just the town or county. That way, members would know who they may contact if they are in need of a helping hand or to organise a meet etc. Anyone could opt out of being listed if they wish. Just a thought.

All the best,
Andrew.

I think both would be good. I've seen 4 capri's recently, including two kids in a gold Mk1 3ltr that was the absolute nuts, in a tatty way. It'd be good to have a single pinned post to put our spots in, see if they're known.
The member's location is already listed next to everyone's posts anyway, so as long as you stick to that, you're not giving anything new away. Is there a way of listing them by county? That's probably the most useful way of doing it.

I've seen a white laser in murton, a black 2.8 in sunderland and a black 2.8 in durham. All months ago though.
Since I got a capri I've said "over the moon" a lot more than ever before.

Hi,
In almost a year I've only spotted probably four or five other Capris on the road. And I do tend to be looking out for them all the time now I've got one.
Unfortunately, each time I've spotted one I've not been driving mine at the time.
My last spot was about six months ago in Stroud.
All the best,
Andrew.
