A big cuddly woman broke my new bed.

Is ally welding expensive? The frame was £399 new. If not I could cut the kinked tube out and sleeve it with steel. Your thoughts?

Flip the bed upside-down and give her another seeing to, might work.
Since I got a capri I've said "over the moon" a lot more than ever before.

I worked briefly for an insurance company which covered home contents. This is the sort of thing people would claim for quite regularly, so if you have insurance give them a call and see if they'll cover it.

With respect dave, I might suggest you don't invest in an ally framed bed mate.

Take it back to the shop ?
I have a flat that I rent out. Two years ago I rented it to two nurses (!) who managed to break the metal framed double bed that I'd just put in. The bed shop refused to believe the bed could have broken under normal usage (!!) so I showed them the damage.
After they'd finished laughing and chucking lewd comments about they gave me a discount on a replacement.

Yes, two nurses, early 20's stunners, butter wouldn't melt etc.
Had to bin the new matress and replaster the wall behind the headboard as well.
Dirty feckers.
There's still a perfect handprint on the ceiling if you look closely.
