Car clubs as religion???

Post by gilley576 »

Sorry if I offend anyone with this, but could petrol heads create thier own religion?

I only ask as I was down in brighton with work this weekend helping some of the lads do a 100km run, they finished at 2100 last night, so I asked if I could shoot back home (Near Bath) straght away for a car show today, instead of camping there, I was told no. So I was mega pissed off that one of the lads managed to get away last night to go to a bible reading club thing..... No not church, its a bunch of fijians talking about the bible in a room......

I am completely atheist, and cannot stand any religion, but if he managed to get away to read a bible, why wasn't I allowed to get back to meet and talk about cars.... you know something real..... that's useful!

Christians meet in church, Muslims meet in mosques and petrolheads meet in car parks...

Christians have the bible, Muslims the Koran And petrolheads... The haynes..

Christians have vicars, Muslims have preachers, petrol heads.... The Organisers.

And just like christianity, there are distinct groups that are always fighting, but can unite for a greater cause Catholics and protistants are like ford lovers and VW fans!

Petrol heads donate money to the Car club, like collections in a church.

I could go on for pages.... but for something to be a religion it has to have 35,000 followers..... This should be easily done, if we all unite we can make Petrol Head a religion, then we will have to be given a place of worship ..... I suggest 1km square of concrete :D

for it to be a recognised religion in the UK, 35,000 people have to say they are in that religion in a cenus. It used to be 7,000 untill the last one where the government caught wind of the plan to make jedi knight a religion......

Religion really is a way of life.

It is a idea I looked at when the twats in the EU where thinking of all this car modification ban shit.

Anyway Yes it could happen IF enough people claimed it as a religion
On the last census I put hot rodder under religion (hot rodder as in a person who builds hot rods Defined as a car modified for speed)

Really all you would need is people to preach something about it and I always figured reminding people about basic health and safety (you know use axle stands, wear protective gear, have stuff professionally checked ETC NOTHING heavy just the basics) and you'd be in.

there was a big thing with the motor bikers trying to get motor biking down as a religion and from what I heard they were not far off.

So really I'd say set-up a facebook group and go from there I haven't really been far of doing it myself.

People that treat a game of bouncing balls and men in shorts as a religion are worse than people that meet in a building to talk to their imaginary friends imo.

disclaimer: I am of course, exaggerating :p But I'm not a fan of either especially

I just think that we (Especially as Capri owners) are getting picked on.....

I mean When you see a roundabout, thats the perfect size, with the perfect "Just after a rain shower" coating....... You can't help but go sideways......

If we were a religion..... We could claim that we have to do it .......

And as for muslims..... Well the extremist muslims.... I have my own opinions which I have to keep to myself as becuase, guessed above, I'm a squaddie.......

I would be happy to try this, I live and breath cars like some people with their religion.

And if jedi could be a religion why not this?

I think religion (all of them) is all that is wrong with this world, so would not want to tarnish one of my hobbies with that "label" in any way.
