Neighbourly grief

Post by gt-bloke »

Does anybody else have hassles with people giving them grief over going to work? apparently the fella round the corner doesn't appreciate me waking him up @ 6:15 firing up the old girl, must be the 2" system

although to be fair I do try and keep the revs under 1500 until i'm out of the street :?

I used to have a similar problem. Coming home from work on my motorbike with very loud exhaust at 6am every day.

If you try and keep the noise as low as you can when going ou then there should be no problem.

For the ammount of time you are driving in your road it should be a non issue but some people love to complain.

I used to fire up my 2.0 with only a mid box and a 3" exit every day, never had a complaint even though i had to use the loud pedal to keep him running, was only on my road for no more than a min at about 6.30am as well.

My joining neighbour is a lovely bloke but the one on the other side is a miserable shit who moans about everything. I washed a car once and he complained that I got some water on his car... what does he do when it rains?!

Fortunately he restored a Sierra about ten years ago so he can't say owt about the Capri

My neighbour came and took pictures of me working on my capri outside my flat, had to stand in front of his car, tske my phone out and take picture of him till he told me what he was doing! Said i had no right to work on my car in the car park of My rented Flat. Found out then he was from the next street that overlooked the car park! Even better complained about the noise the last two week. For 3 Weeks i was unable to get it to turn over. IDIOT! HAHA

Wow, that's so sad. Makes me feel better living with this bunch of twattish hippies now.. although this one girl next door, Judith or rather "Rudith" as we now call her, complained about me raising a blackbird. Seriously, I found this bird in the neighbour's cat's mouth, nursed it back to health over 6 weeks, hand reared the Little Bender (that was her name), helped it learn how to fly and built her up, then released her.

She complained that Bender landed on my shoulder one afternoon :headscratch: and said it was cruel.. cruel that this blackbird flew out of a tree and landed on me. Amazing.

on one side of us, theres a woman who's about 22 stone, a real rough diamond she is, and has a voice like a fog horn, she doesnt know how to speak quietly, she stands on the front door step 'avin a fag' and talking on her mobile to god only knows who! and you can hear every word she says.

she also owns an alsation that is always in the garden and constantly barks... usually at nothing in particular  then she shouts at the dog to shut up, which is worse than the barking :)

ive never complained though, shes harmless enough, ive had worse neighbors than her before...

the other side of me is a young mid 30's professional type guy, you never hear a peep out of him :D

Have a near neighbour who doesn't appreciate the fact that I have a 26 year old Ford which sometimes sits on the driveway.
Heard via another neighbour that he thinks old cars 'lower the tone' of the street but he's never said anything directly to me.

Have a neighbour who complaind when me and my friend from down the road played football in the street. We were about 10 and she would call my friends dad and he would take her in and ground her.

Now you can imagine how pleased she was when I started playing with capri's.

She once came to complain about the noise when I was running in a new cam. Came up to me with is at 2k and asked if I could stop, only being 2 mins in that was a no.

She then asked to see my dad. mum likes the cars but dad she thought would be more sympathetic. also she tried the same thing with mum and got told that I would be continuing with the work on the cars and that she had been a pain during my child hood. Well dad said the same thing to her.

She now knows that her complaints will get her nowhere and in terms of time percentage it is less than0.5% that i am actually being noisier than a petrol mower. I get a frosty wave when I se her out and I just have a smile and wave back, not smiling because it is annoying her but because I love what I do.

As long as you dont go late into the night or start early in the morning then they dont have a legal leg to stand on. The police will tell them to log all the times and dates that there is noise and then will take action on that. If it is rarely that you make large ammounts of noise and it is within reasonable times then you have nothing to worry about.

Just a pain when some people try and spoil the things we love

Well much the same here.I leave for work around 6.30am and use my Capri as my daily driver.Mellow has a twin stainless Powerflow system. Its not that loud, but at that time of the morning sound travels. Also my Capri is automatic too. I don't get no problems with neighbours in my street, but i've been told that i wake up others in the next street though as i got to drive up a steepish hill to get out of the estate and being a auto it is a wee bit loud going up the hill :xd: But they have never come around to have a go at me..... i wounder why......

One neighbour in my street did once complain, but all i said was do you work... he said noi don't..

So i said if you got off your fat lazy arse and get a job you wouldn't need a alarm clock as my Capri would wake you up in the mornings.. tosser...
