The 3.0 v6 has now done just over 500 miles since its rebuild, using a good quality running in oil. Now what would be the best way to go:- fully syn, semi syn 10/40,or a good classic 20/50 mineral oil?
Will be tightening the heads and re checking valve clearences, but it does run very quietly already with excellent oil pressure.
any advice guys

Re: which oil to use?
I think the general board concensus is for a 20w50 mineral oil, but other opinions will differ.

20/50 mineral oil, it's what the engines were designed to use.

10W60 fully synthetic.
Recommended by a motorsport race engine builder who builds primarily old ford engines such as cross flows and lotus twin cams.
Thats what I will be using in my 2.1 pinto after it has run in.
Millers is Highly recomended by many experienced sources in high performance engine circles.
