Events/Get togethers

Post by Peter-S »

Assuming that the lack of response to Tom's question on Dicc means no one wants to go camping is there any desire for meeting up anywhere for a different type of event.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Christmas can be included in this I guess. Any one want it this year?

Do we all hate each other now? Is that in vogue? These crazy trends, I don't know. Maybe we should get together and have a big fight instead.

I'm up for meets....!

Won't be in a Capri though....yet.

Preferably up North(ish).

Lincoln/Midlands area? That's a couple of hours south of me...Nice and central (ish).

Haven't managed to get to anything this year owing to unplanned rebuilding of that bloody Jag I bought.

We all live too bloody far apart!

So only one feasible solution, you all move nearer to me

If there's nowhere close we can all get to, let's go somewhere nice instead.. maybe a weekend in Wales or something? Then it'll be equally far away from everyone, give or take.

For scenery, I did a three hour cruise to pitch a tent on a nice pictureskew hill-top overlooking wooded hills and orchards with rolling views for miles to the hills in the distance but even that didn't appear to bring in the crowds ( location clues hidden in text )

We need somewhere different to previous meets maybe with a nice sandy beach and plenty of pubs & clubs within walking distance for anyone wanting a two-niter. Probably a holiday type resort such as Cleethorpes would fit the bill? Central for the whole gang from Scotland to Devon.

We would be up for something. Within a reasonable distance.

Now I'm not one for clubs or pompous meetings...

...rather like Mr Brown of North Tyneside! However my message to any people viewing this thread and contemplating making a meet is to go for it.

You will meet some cracking lads and lasses. So much so that Matty now loves going to the meets. I've enjoyed the odd ones I've popped to and on the whole the people there have been good fun and easy going.

Did you guys and gals do Ford Fair at Silverstone last weekend?

http://www.fordfair.co.uk/

Thats always an awesome show so if not you should get yourself a stand next year. Its always at the beginning of August and a great day out, they have camping facitlities too.

So it gives you a year to get the cars and a club stand sorted.

Its the best car show I've ever been to and you get to meet soooo many a-m-a-zing people too.

Cleethorpes sounds like fun... a long way, but I'd be up for it, not as far as the Newcastle bots or Scottish guys travel is it? But only if we can all park our cars in the same place in a big row so everyone who sees them cries with joy.

Tom where have you been looking? Saucy!

Or are you suggesting we are a set of replicants?

Please notice the 'a' in replicant...
