"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Thanks Chris for that down draft carb shot.

I've not seen any fitted yet, but it is the set up that the Mk2 will have if I ever get it running again.

The manifold I have is original Ford and will take huge carbs or fuel injetcion.

Looks like plenty of bonnet clearance space as well for some trumpets.

Couple of things about that article

Post by Beakster »

1) They say that injection head flows better, but I've heard the notching means its not as good?

2) In the top left hand corner it mentions using 2 spark plugs per cylinder but doesn't elaborate on it. Any one ever heard of this on a Pinto?Image

ok....

1) Injection head flows better as the ports are better internally. On the other hand, the injector nicks can cause leakage problems when fitting a carb manifold on an injection head.

2) My guess would be they are referring to the picture in the corner next to the comment. There appears to be 8 spark plugs lined up above the valves. Can't really see any detail on the head, perhaps a higher quality scan of just that area would reveal more.Efi Pinto's rock!!!

CCC twin spark pinto article.......

Post by Terra-Kotta »

Was waaaaaaay back in 1989-90 i think, i remember seeing it, it made a couple of extra BHP but the whole idea of it was to run more lumpy cams on the street which it did score very well on, apparently it idled loads better due to a more controlled burn.

if your into REAL performance cars then CCC is and allways has been the mag to get.
