Health update

Post by Major_Tom »

..I spoke to the surgeon and consultant the other day, there's not much he can tell me before the MR scans on Weds, but basically it sounds like there's bones in my neck restricting blood flow from my head. All sounded quite interesting actually.

The angiogram is when they inject dye in your veins and see how and where the blood is flowing. The lumbar puncture is when they drain fluid from.. your spine! And see if that reduces the pressure in the head. Interesting stuff. Apparently it's quite a new idea and is not being practiced at any other hospital yet.

Hopefully I'll get a bottle of spinal fluid out of it too.

I was wondering whether a plumber would walk into the theatre with a few lengths of copper pipe and a faucet just as I was going under..

Hmmmm hope it all goes well, are you having it all done on the same day?
I know someone who had an extra rib (well a bit of bone) growing out from thier spine too high up, ie neck area, and it was causing all sorts of havok with blood flow and neck movement.
LP's are not much fun, actually all your procedures are wide awake ones.......

i have a bloody fantastic chiropracter who can move bones around like noones business.... moved my spine back to its proper place when it got twisted round when i got smashed into.... he's a lovely guy too so DO let me know if you want his number as sometimes alot can be sorted out through stuff like that aswell as through the hospital, you know, taking a different approach and shit like that.

all the best tom

Why not have your spine completely removed!

Think of all the job opportunities in middle management :D

Hope its all ok Tom.

Makes my erection problems seem rather a small problem in comparison to your problem.

Mand is bringing something home tomorrow to try and sort my problem, hopefully its the propper fit receptionist that works at the control desk ;)

Major Tom, it sounds like you just need your blood thinning a little bit to improve flow - some warfarin maybe or an infusion of alcohol (for medicinal purposed only of course)

Glyn, your problem is all those cold nights in the bivvy, it's shrunk so much that it's beyond redemption, get one of your spods out for her, one with a red end on it.
