Mate of mine has bought a car today that, he knew I'd been on the lookout for the last few years.

I'll keep you guessing as to what it is until he's had his fun with it.

All I'll say is,I'm Going to have to get a move on with finishing my project cars now!

I've found out why the car won't drive. No splines left on the rear axle outer Joint LOL. Previous owner was told the diff had gone and after spending too much on it he gave up. How it pays to be mechanically minded.

Nice easy fix.

First regested keeper was a Mr James Nail, not sure if you've heard of him? (Actor and Singer). Has been confirmed by a previous owner today, that came to look at the car. Loads of money has been spent on it over the years as documents prove.

Just got to wait until the tax runs out and it's mine.
My mate wants to drive it for a bit, that's fine by me as I've been on the look out on and off for years, hopefully get a test drive this week. Engine is sweet as... Loads of test etc.

What is it? Not saying LOL!

Some tuning company has messed with it, think they used to be owned by Vickers.

He also bought a BOB Ultima Scorpio, well the Cat's out of the bag now Jonna.

Talking of cats they are brand new on it, cost a fortune.

I'd rather have Oz's Zephyr from Auf Wedersehen Pet though...

Is it a closed loop efi system?

If not, I'd say sell the cats!Image Image

Jonna,

The car swap age doesn't need cats.

I wasn't meaning legislation...

... don't some closed loop ecu systems require the cats to be left in? As opposed to open loop systems?

I'd reckon that as long as the lambda probe was upstream of the cats, you should be okay.

I may have this wrong btw...

...but it is one of the reasons why aftermarket ECU's are used in a lot of engine swaps.Image Image

I got me a BOB in the week....

Post by QuadCamCapri »

well I only wanted the cams but the breakers wouldn't split the engine, I didn't complain too much as I got the whole lump for £125 and they removed it :)

What I can't understand is why nearly every casting on the BOB is different to the BOA for an engine that was never going to be in production long?

I didn't know the miles on this one as there was no battery to power up the dash but it all looks nice and clean inside and the cams look good, this breakers have always been cheap.
Will take the heads off and have a play sometime.
