capri arche options???

Post by Supercharged Nat »

the rears on mine are a bit rusty now, and theyve been done in the past so im thinking have em out and put something else in? i really like the idea of a mk2 xpack but i dunno... what other arches are out there- even if not designed for a capri. please post up pics of any capri you have with different arches (front and back)

thanks!Image

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

would MK2 escort forest arches fit?

They're 2 a penny in fibre glass or alloy, and so wouldn't rust. You could just bond them on and be done with it.

xpack sounds cool, but I was put off the idea by everyone telling me its impossible to fit the rears without lots of fibreglassing experience.

Speak to Haydn, he's got escort arches on his.

There's a post about it here: http://www.network54.com/Forum/67242/thread/1153760005/

Don't do the nuts up tight on stuff anymore as it'll only have to be taken off in a week anyways....

hey mate I put forest ones from an escort on mine, davey G d

except he used tarmac ones which are a lot wider, only problem is you need SERIOUSLY fat rear wheels to fill em else it looks really ****e.....even with the forest ones, did a slide show somewhen about the fitment:

They cost about 150 quid for a set of 4 but you can sell the other 2, think I got em from rallydesign or peterlloyds I don't recall.
If you had more time and a nicer car to do the job on you could spend a lot more time and get an even better result than that...
and finished result now:

Maybe it's just me but the article says the exposed rivets give a more aggressive look, to me it just seems unfinished.

Prepare to have your premiums twanged by the insurance co if you space wheels out - they don't like the idea much (unless times have changed in the industry) Fitting rims with wider outset from centreline would be best.
