Hi Les,
The insurance premium being less than you'd anticipated is excellent news. The level of cover has all yof nend too. What insurance company have you decided to go with?

Hello Andrew,
They are Footman James I don't know if they're any good or not but I think what they offer is a fair deal imo anyway.

Hi Les,
Unfortunately, you'll only get to find that out if you ever need to make a claim. That's when you find out the good companies from the bad!
From what you've said, they do appear to offer a good level of cover for what is, I assume, a reasonable premium.

All the best,
Andrew.

Exactly right. That's why I won't recommended Adrian Flux, quite the opposite. (Nothing to do with the Capri though)

Hello,
As everyone says you only know how good they are when you need them, hopefully we never need them especially for the unthinkable.

Hi,
Well done Steve and Les, the finished car is superb. I really love the colour, it really suits the car. I don't think it needs any side stripes, it looks great as it is.

:agree:
Are you putting the Ford badges, 3.0 Ghia Tailgate Decal and over riders on it?

Hi Les,

You are one lucky fella to own such a Capri so beautiful as this one but by this I am not saying you "stumbled" upon these results mate  Your hard work is a true credit to you as we can see by the results. What a restoration ! Simply stunning as already said. Don't know how many times I looked over the photos. And I agree also that it don't need no side stripes but to be honest this Capri would look superb whatever you decide :D

Thanks for that Steve. It really is a fantastic colour indeed and really suits the lines of the Capri so well as it did "Eleanor" :)

Hopefully we may get to see it at a meet next year some time Les. But I think I would turn greener than The Hulk methinks if I ever am lucky enough to see it in the flesh... green with envy...not anger by the way

Nice one chaps :applaud:

All the best

Nick

Hello Nick,
Thanks for the kind comments, yes I'm going to put the over riders back on once she's tucked away in her garage. I'm going to order both new bumpers, I know they're pattern parts but I think they'll look right. I also want clear front indicators. I'm also trying to source some thick black carpet so I can make some mats for the interior and these will be trimmed in grey.
Personally I love the colour but I did choose it, it took quite a bit of looking to find the name and code of it but I think it's turned out just so.
As I've said already I think I'll leave her plain for a while, I'm looking forward to going for her as I have a two hour drive back.

Hello again,
Sorry if I'm bugging people with my posts but forgot to mention I have ford badges and the Capri 3.0 ghia decal for the boot, it's a similar shade to the car so won't be too conspicuous.
I'm going to try to get to some shows this year and hope to see some of you at some point.

Hi,
The National last year was a great day out, there were some stunning cars there.
Personally, I can't see the point of buying a ticket in advance. Entry costs the same on the gate, and it's not like it's going to be a capacity turn-out that will sell out. Also, if you decide not to go, the money will be non-refundable.

What a credit to you both Les and Steve. I think this Capri looks fantastic.

Stripes - I can't see it looking bad with them, but with this contemporary colour and interior, I don't think it needs them.

Badges - I think Ford emblems at least are merited but you could trial fit and post pics for views. Personally, I feel the light blue oval would look right at home with that colour. With Ghia badges, I am not sure. Would like to see trial fit!

Love this car....
