Re: new wheels fiited
Hi all, Had a great day today. B112 passed mot and I finally fitted the new 7x15" wheels ! I am really really happy with them. They look very nice indeed !! After fitting all four I was really pleased with how they looked. They really have more presence about them indeed which the pics might s...

Looks great Neil :applaud: I presume you don't cover the car? Enjoy Simply Ford if you go Sunday :D Andy Cheers Andy Perhaps I should invest in some sort of breathable cover?? Been let down by a couple of mates that I was going to go with.... Thinking I might just go out for a long drive with a fre...

Re: Getting the Capri ready for the nice weather
Hi Neil, Looking stunning there! The hard work that you've put in has really worked wonders as the paintwork looks to have a wonderfully deep shine to it. Beautiful. I might attend my first show this weekend. It's not the CCI Nationals is it...... Andrew. Cheers Andrew. It was hard work the d...

My old lady has had DINITROL from day one and it’s top up every 3 years before we did the car last year ( just top up ) I did some recearch and they say it’s better then waxoye . I do think that has help save the Capri from the rest worm in its 31 years . Second Dinitrol. It stays flexible so doesn...

Getting the Capri ready for the nice weather
At last it looks like we might have some good weather and I might attend my first show this weekend. Re: Wheely excited....
Good choice Nick..... I was thinking of getting these wheels for mine in the future if my 13" tyres get close to wearing out. I'll be interested to hear how you feel it drives after changing them over. I was a little concerned that it would firm the ride up too much with the lower profile, howe...

Re: 2.8 single leaf rear springs wanted
Hi Mark, Not sure why you need to change your rear springs as I've always thought your car seems to sit nicely and has a nice smooth ride. Changed mine a few years back and have never been that happy with the cars back end since. Firstly I had to fit 1 1/2" lowering blocks to get the back down ...

Re: Brake bleeding
Interested to hear how this is going, as my brakes have become soggy all of a sudden :( The car hasn't been driven over the winter, took it out the other day for a little drive and noticed the brakes have become really spongy. It didn't seem to matter how much I pumped the pedal it stayed the same. ...

Crazy to think less than 3 years ago these cars would have been under 10K  What a sobering thought Andy.... Your car would be worth £30k plus going by the examples we have seen here. 4 speed, carla check, low miles, low ownership, right colour, Janspeed exhaust and original paint :banghead: ...

Re: Another Injection from the Dr.....
I've just noticed the bit where it says that this car has an agreed insurance value of £26K. Food for thought for 2.8 owners. Andrew. I wouldn't pay too much attention to an insurance agreed value.... They seem to except what ever you tell them its worth. Wonder how well they'd honour it if it ever...

Hi Sheff, thanks for the info regarding the eBay link. Will probably use that tomorrow. I cannot risk using an older item, thought mine was more than serviceable. Quite fancy the bigger Granada m/c as well. ATB. Peter Wise decision! I think the reason your's has failed, is the fresh fluid and all t...

And their shackles are not rated for capris... any ideas? That's because the Escort springs are a different size to Capri items, so the shackles will also be a different size. Andrew. Mk2 Escort springs are wider than the Capri, so the shackles won't fit. Mk1 Escort springs are the same width as th...

It has a good history to, if the advert is to be believed.
But I'd prefer a pre-special

Re: 2.8i as a family car/daily driver?
Oh and the only major thing I would look to do ASAP is upgrade the front brakes and coils if you’re carrying family in the car- tickover has a good set from Hi-Spec which I’ve got on order and will be fitted soon. A good upgrade... I have the slightly firmer 1" lower springs from Tickover. The...
