Re: Weber Carb rebuilt

I don't but you can buy a rebuild kit and do it yourself. Save a ton of money if you're slightly mechanically inclined.

Re: What is the point?

Good point about the 2.0 Capri, it is a great cruiser and since it's only putting out around 100bhp you can use all its power all the time safely (mostly), whereas like you say in a modern car you only have a few seconds before you need to lift off or run the risk of breaking many laws or killing yo...

Re: What is the point?

Gotta admit I'm tempted to sell my Capri for a mk2 focus st but I'd never be able to afford the fuel costs I would have another one tomorrow. Great cars and if driven sensibly not that bad on fuel....According to the fuel computer, I got 40mpg on a 50 mile run keeping it under 60mph  on the A3...

Re: What is the point?

Gotta admit I'm tempted to sell my Capri for a mk2 focus st but I'd never be able to afford the fuel costs, I'm struggling with my 2.0 Capri as is, especially now petrol is over £1.30 a litre! Seriously why are these fuel prices just keep going up and nothings being done about it? Where are the stri...

Re: Looking to buy some new headlights

Got to admit I'm very surprised with how bright these lights are. They required more wiring mods than I expected so they're definitely not a straight swap, but boy are they worth it! They're so bright and I don't even have decent bulbs yet! (I'm going to get some osram nightbreakers when I can affo...

Re: What is the point?

It all depends of the car/engine it's coming from, like don't get me wrong if I see something mid 90's and Japanese (the typical drift cars of choice at the minute) popping and banging down the road it's does put a smile on my face. BUT...... a piece of shit saxo has no place doing it, unless it's ...

I wonder if people have the same reaction when they hear a Capri with a sporty exhaust note driving down the street?

Andrew.
I doubt it, our cars actually sound half decent. :xd:

What is the point?

What's the point of all the backfiring cars at car meets these days? Like...it just all sounds awful. I'm all for revving the nuts off a good sounding engine and I know there's the occasional natural backfire but all these engines sound so dumb and fake when that's all they do. I don't even understa...

I might ask for one for Christmas. £45 is a bit steep at the moment. Is there a link or website I can bookmark so I can come back to these later?

Thank you. We're trying our best to get it back to the same standard as before. Progress is just slow and I wont be able to work on it again until Monday.

What are people like it’s lucky you have the knowlage and place to do the work , look forward to the pictures when it’s done . I know, right? Thankfully my dad has got a new workshop otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this as when it actually happened he didn't have one. I'll make updates as...

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

Back in October (2017) some idiot parked next to me and slammed her door into my front wing, denting it and chipping the paint down to metal. She wanted to give me £50 there and then to pay for it, i laughed and told her thats gonna cost A LOT more than that, around £250 or so. So scoffed in my face...

Re: Paint code for cobalt blue?

Hi, I've just checked on paints4u, and the paint code for Cobalt blue is indeed XSC1271. There appears to be two colour codes listed - 3 1 T3 and 5 1 N3. If there is a place near you that mixes automotive paint, I would recommend going that route. Just take along a part of the car in the colour you...

I need to do some paintwork to my car and I just wanted to make sure I have the correct paint code.
Is cobalt blue xsc 1271? Just wanted to make sure I don't have my letters mixed up lol.

Re: Getting hard to keep?

One of the many many reasons I'm considering selling my 2.0s for top money while prices are still crazy and getting something more modern and easier to maintain. Maybe a nice Civic type R, as few cars are rwd and all the good ones are well out of my price range even after selling the Capri. Nissan S...

Nah, just a never ending avalanche of bad luck pretty much. If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have none at all.

Those look awesome, though I hope you have better luck with those nankangs then I did, mine were defective and didn't even have a date stamp on them so had to fight to get a refund from the shady seller.
