Great spot!
I've only ever seen one one the road. It passed me while we were driving on a dual carriageway, but it didn't sound anywhere near as good as a Capri sounds!

Andrew.
It wouldn't, it's got a Renault 30 or Volvo 265 engine.

Re: End Of The Internal Combustion Engine?

If they're going to fine Jaywalkers using cameras, will we all have to walk round with a registration number on our backs? Mind you, the way the Big Brother state is going nothing would surprise me. We won't need registration plates as we'll all have microchips implanted into our necks that are rea...

On a car a mig is. Too easy to burn through with arc, it's better for welding thick material.

Re: Welding

That is good practise to help stop the grot coming back. I use the zinc rich weld through primer and spray a bit inside the area which the plate will be covering too. The more the merrier I say and if you can get some waxoyl or similar in behind a plate even better. I swear by zinc 182 over small pa...

Re: Tachometer rev counter wiring issue.

I can't really put it on here, it's stored in their technical archive and the chap that took ages making the line drawings is a regular user of the site. I don't mind putting a few things on but although I don't use CP as much these days, much friendlier lot on here, but nether the less I don't want...

About time too ignorant sods..... Mobile phones are such a pest. A mobile phone is fine as now you can't seem to get by without one, to call and text is all you really need, but they have far too many apps etc. Are people that worried what other people are doing on social media, that they have to s...

I think the rest of the number was BMX or something like that. Tried to look on ITV I player but you have to sign up to use it and I don't want more junk mail or spam emails as a result of doing that - I get enough already!

Re: End Of The Internal Combustion Engine?

. On a serious note, observe how many pedestrians in urban areas wander into the road without looking. They rely on the noise of vehicles to tell them that something is coming. I wonder if silent vehicles will lead to an increase in the number of injuries? Andrew.[/quote] Especially if the daft bast...

I hope this conversation keeps going Jonny As this forum represents a cross section of Capri owners its fair to say anything that is developed on the basis of what is suggested and agreed by forum members should also sell via Ebay etc. Just a thought but have you approached CCI with a view of selli...

Re: seized brakes

If it's the rear brakes that have seized then yes, give the drums a clout with a large hammer on the front face by the wheel studs but not on the sides as that could distort the drums. Also, look behind the drums and give the arms to which the cable attaches a moderate clout towards the drums - this...

Re: Not a Capri......

It's a cracking car Andy, why don't you just save your money and leave it as Mr Ford intended.

I've got a good set of early 14" pepperpot alloys from a Ghia model. Were these the same as the early 3 door XR4i?

Re: Moulded Carpets for Mk2/3 to buy!

I think your best seller would be a good quality 2 piece grey carpet for the later models that had a grey interior and the long centre console. The Ghia models, both MK2 and MK3, also had this console but carpets were fitted in a variety of colours - green, beige, blue, red and brown to name a few. ...

This may be contentious, but I do feel that Trucks should be confined to the inside lane and 50 mph in pouring rain. Their spray can magnify the poor visibility problem 10 fold but they don't realise what it's like for cars following them as they sit so high above it. :agree: with all you say Paul,...

Re: Interior trim refurbishment

I planning to cut a piece of vinyl out of the back of a scrap seat and use it to recover my arm rest. I though I'd sculpt a bit of the foam out of the seat as well to go under the vinyl. Has anyone else done similar? I thought I'd use a couple of coats of Nick's favorite just to get it to a similar ...
