Re: URGENT Strut help. Wont turn.

interesting because when my mot tester put my strut on and couldn't turn the steering wheel he too was convinced it should too have a bearing. When he loosened the centre nut off it would steer, but if you watch the top mount as you steer the top mount now moves. As for u shaped washers..haven't got...

Re: my 2.8 i wont start please help

Follow the fuel pipe from the rear, make sure it isn't damaged where it goes through the floor strenghtening bracket. Some people use this bracket to jack the car up crushing the pipe (mine was badly damaged). Then there's what appears to be some 'makeshift' connector pipe which is a small 6cm long ...

Re: steering wheel movement

Thanks - i will. Are they M16 calipers or M11 Calipers? I haven't got bundles of dosh and i just want a quick straightforward pair of calipers. If i do buy slighty better ones then i don't want to be messing around afixing brakets and modifying. Any recommendations of where i can get 2.8i front cali...

Re: steering wheel movement

Thanks :) . The car has just come back from a garage after being restored. As a favour they removed the Track Control Arms and Anti Roll Bar and put in new polybushes for me with the stainless steel dics. It never wobbled before and ran beautifully. Now after test driving it last night everything lo...

Re: steering wheel movement

Was there any answer to this question? My Capri 2.8i developed a dangerous wheel wobble to the point where it got violent and i had to stop. I jacked it up and noted that Anti Roll Bar nuts that secure the ARB onto the Track Control Arms were finger tight. I tightned them up properly and put a pin t...

Hi. My car is due to appear as 'Classic Ford Car of the show' at santa pod and i've just been putting the electrics back in. I turned ignition on & it turns over with a strong spark but doesn't ignite - no fuel pump at all, but it was working before. The dash lights don't come on, hazards, indic...

Hoses from bulkhead - where do they go please

I have a Capri 2.8i. Where do the 2 hoses from the bulkhead go. I know they're the flow and return for the heater matrix, but the Haynes manual tells you ddidly squat. Also, anyone know the position of the oil cooler in terms of angle on the side of the engine. Ta.

Capri 2.8 Engine hoses - any recommendations

I want to get some new hoses (complete set) for my 1986 2.8i. Trouble is im not spending £250 on some samco ones. I'm happy with the original black rubber or similar. Is there somewhere where i just just buy a bunch of hoses or hose and cut to size? Anyone know the internal diameter of any of them? Ta

Re: Engine resto with pics. Wot do u think i should do now?

As advised I sanded down and removed the paint from all neccessary mating surfaces of the inlet manifold and then bolted the manifold to the engine. I then realised that the small injector cylinder bores where the injectors sit into have also been painted inside. Do i have to remove the paint from i...
