Mike.
Mike if they're not out on display its worth asking a shop assistant if they have any left. The 2 I got were out the back and the last 2 they had.

Good luck

Re: Aldi LED workshop lamp

Hi Mike,

I haven't given it a long run yet, but a chap at work said they last a couple of hours. They come with a 12v cigarette lighter adapter, so perfect for recharging in your car if your not using an electric hook up when camping.

Re: Aldi LED workshop lamp

These lamps are great, they give out loads of light and being cordless makes them nice to move around, without the worries of tangling the wire around something.

Well worth £6.99 :D

Re: Brake Caliper Colour

I don't think they painted them from new. They started off life with a thin coating of cad plate which lasted about 5 mins then they turned a rusty shade of brown. I painted mine black, only because it matches the brake dust that soon forms over them. That way I don't feel the need to clean them eve...

Aldi LED workshop lamp

Hi All, Mrs sheff has just picked me up a couple of LED workshop lamps from Aldi :D They're currently reduced from £9.99 to £6.99. A few blokes at work have got them and are very impressed. This is what I'm talking about https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/specialbuy-sale/product-detail-page/ps/p/...

Great pictures Nick.

Sorry to say my favorite is the Firenza droop snoop, think its an HC not an HP.
Big fan of that droop snoop look, especially when I used to see it in the rear view mirror of my RS2000 :D

Re: Aesthetics question

I personally wouldn't fit them to my car I think it spoils the look. However I saw a Capri with some period looking rectangular spots mounted under the bumper which sort of looked acceptable :) . At the end of the day its personal taste and you can always take them off if you change your mind about ...

Re: Does anyone want this F$¥€ing Capri I'm selling.

Il throw in the catastrophic fail sheet for piece of mind that you really are buying a proper shed! This car does need extensive welding to front inner sills and A panels. Rear sills and offside rear floor. Near side front chassis leg. Offside and nearside rear inner sills, seat belt anchors . Near...

Re: Capri 2.8i Fast Idle.. around 3500 rpm on warm up

Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh about the garage you use. If they've been around for 50 years they must have someone working there that knows what he's doing on old cars :) It just annoys me when I get people coming up to me at work sometimes, saying "I've got a problem with my car can you take ...

Re: Capri 2.8i Fast Idle.. around 3500 rpm on warm up

I've tried adjusting the idle with the idle screw on the throttle body and the rest screw for the throttle plate. Hang on a minute............. Before you do anything. The rest screw on the throttle plate, are you talking about the small grub screw on the top of the throttle body with a small lock ...

Re: Capri 2.8i Fast Idle.. around 3500 rpm on warm up

If you squeeze one of the air pipes connected to the auxiliary air valve when cold, you should see a drop in revs. It would be interesting to see how much it drops from 3000 RPM. If it drops to 750 RPM it would prove that you are getting too much air through your aux air valve. Give it a try, it wil...

Re: Capri 2.8i Fast Idle.. around 3500 rpm on warm up

Might be worth checking the earth lead to the engine. It's at the front right hand side on the alternator bracket, they might have dislodged it when they removed the heads, seems strange that they couldn't get a spark if it was ok before they stripped the engine. My other thought would be that they'...

Re: Aluminium Radiator

Has anyone any thoughts on aluminium radiators are they worth the money, the ones on CCI are ridiculously priced IMO, radiator specialists on ebay have them for £185, does anyone know if there products are any good, any-other recommendations would be welcome, Dave. Hi Dave, I've fitted one of the r...

Unlucky Les, that was a really nice car.......... However the Brookies still a good buy at £8500 :) and I think deep down the Brooklands is the car of your dreams. Get yourself around there at the weekend and buy it if you think its a good car! Its reassuring to know that tidy cars like that Special...

Re: Special or 280

The more you look at pictures the more bits you can see. If you could get the 280 for sub £9000 I reckon you will do well. Neither are advertised as mint so you can't expect everything to be 100%. I have to agree with MS Injections comment, but the choice is yours, but you know deep down what you r...

Hi Les, 2 great cars, I know which I'd buy, but its down to you which suits your requirements best :) My thoughts of the Special are...... Wow what a well sorted car. A lovely colour, nice set of alloys and a real credit to the owner, who's got it to that standard. A car I'd be proud to own. A bit p...

Re: valve clearance problem

hay lads, All the inlet valves are set bang on at 0.20 and one exhaust valve was right 0.25 but the other 3 exhaust valves where way over tightened so tight that i couldn't even get a 0.05 to fit between them! If the exhaust valves have become that tight I would suspect you have valve seat recessio...
