Newcastle as far away as it is could be good fun. I'll take the granny if a few people want to come with and share the petrol.

Great sound track for capri driving. That's what you get with a capri driver in the band!

Re: another cossie question
All the starters are interchangeable so that doesnt come into it.
It was about £150 for mine. They put a brand new MT75 flange, UJ and sliding joint on to my original 2.0 prop.

Re: another cossie question
Yo. Read this... http://www.fordcapriforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=31093 You will need a custom prop. You could use the front part of a sierra prop but it will need welding on to the capri prop with the addition of a sliding joint. The capri 2.8 clutch is too thin and the release bearing ...

Re: wheel offsets, rfx gave me some wierd numbers
Its the measurement in mm between the center line of the wheel and the position of the hub mounting face. When they say ET02 to ET22, it means that they can manufacture the wheel to your specification as long as its within 2mm and 22mm. A wheel with plenty of dish will have the hub mounting face ver...

Re: Ok another Cosworth BOA temp sender question
What they say is you need to use the temp sender that matches the temp gauge of the car. And they usually assume the car being converted is a 2.8 and tell you to get a 2.8 part but yours was a 2.0? Use the temp sender from the pinto.

Re: Cosworth oil pressure switch
Why do you need a switch? Are you trying to set up an oil warning light on the dash? If so i would use with the 24v switch and just make the wiring for it.
On mine I just removed the switch and screwed in the pinto oil pressure line for the gauge to work. Same fitment, same thread as the switch.

I think the oil level is just below the core plug. So no oil came out when you disconected the speedo cable from the gbox?
I believe its a 24 tooth cog you need for a 2.0.

Re: How to tell a v6 shell
It would be a 3.0 shell because the battery is on the passenger side.
It seems strange that a good 3.0 would get broken to reshell a 2.0 so maybe its just one of those factory oddities.

Re: How thick and how much?
I wouldnt use anything thinner than 1mm on a capri. I really doubt you can cut it with tin snips. A hacksaw would work ok if you can hold the metal in a vice. Why are you not using power tools? Get involved! I just buy what ever size I need at the time at the metal stockholders. Its about £4 for a p...

I used all the 2.8i parts, fuel tank, pump, type 9, radiator, power steering bits, etc. Maybe not so easy to find tanks these days.Paul.Yeomans wrote: i want to crack on with this conversion so if you could tell me what things i need to change that woild be great

Re: well the lack of fuel consumption continues
Has the distributor been off? 340truck could be right, it may need the timing set again. Did you say the engine was running perfectly in the granny? If so you need to think about whats changed during the conversion and what parts of the engine have been taken apart? I know ive mentioned the fuel ret...

Yo Nat. Thats the wire for setting up what grade of petrol the car is going to run on, it only retards or advances the ignition a little bit.

Re: well the lack of fuel consumption continues
Somethings faulty, no good putting it on a rolling road, its not a remapable ECU. Youre right, the only adjustment is the allen key under the AFM which should be used to acheive the corect CO level at idle. The exhaust wont be the problem, if its in good condition leave it alone. Clean all the conta...
