Re: VIN Query
Andrew, my VIN plate does show the full number including the WFOCXX - I think the reason I was thinking it was just GAEC was because the dealers always used just the abbreviated version on all their incoices, order forms etc. (Must admit I am glad I saved these :) ) Oh, and I actually ordered it ea...
Re: VIN Query
I was going to PM you it Andrew but I can’t attach images to a PM? I don’t want to post it publicly
But I can’t see WF0 anywhere on the plate and there is definitely six numbers after the GAECAG

Re: rubber hoses
I’m thinking about replacing the hoses in my capri as it’s been sat since 2005 considering getting these for the carb but also the radiator hoses too
Has anyone bought them, are they easy to fit / any good ?

VIN Query
I’ve bought a Capri where the owner has lost the log book (last issued in 2005) so I am sending off a V62 form to the DVLA to apply for a new log book in my name. As part of the form it asks me to complete the VIN for this particular Capri. I’ve located the plate in the usual spot above the grill at...

Re: I'm wanted!
This reminds me of the time I was driving my capri down a dual carriageway on the inside lane, now ignoring the fact a white van was overtaking me in the outside lane but as I look over the passenger is holding up a paper sign against the window asking me “how much for the capri?” As I’m literally d...

Re: 1980 Ford Capri L 1.6
It’s strange but nice being the owner of a Ford Capri again, you can’t beat these cars regardless of the condition they’re in when we get them. Car arrived as planned yesterday morning, drove off the back of the trailer under its own steam which is always a positive sign for a car that’s been off th...

1980 Ford Capri L 1.6
Well I previously posted here about my previous Capri which was a 1981 Ford Capri L 1.6 which I was the owner of from 2013 until 2019 and used as a daily driver for most of that time, upgraded the engine to a 2ltr and took to many car shows. Sold the car in 2019 with my first child on the way as it ...

1981 Ford Capri 2.0 “L”
Reluctantly listing my Capri after 6-7 years of ownership. Requiring the funds for a mortgage deposit and lack of storage mean the time has come to potentially pass the car on to someone who has the time and money required to get it back on the road and attending some shows again. https://rover.ebay...

Re: MOT Failure/Fixes
Think I might have found the problem, would I be right in thinking fuse 2 and 7 should probably have something actually connected to them?

MOT Failure/Fixes
My Capri failed it's MOT last weekend, requires a patch of welding which a friend of mine is able to do. However it also failed for reg plate lights not working and rear fog lamp not working. I've taken out and replaced both of the bulbs for the reg plate light as well as the fog light bulbs, but to...

http://i66.tinypic.com/2cpug5i.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/ie4g84.jpg Capri is still going strong! Three years of ownership and has undergone a whole lot of work since then. Have needed the floor pan and sills welded for the last two MOT's, engine replaced, oil/fuel filters, fuel pump, HT leads and ...

Steering/Brakes issue?
Hi guys I'm still driving my 1981 1.6 L Ford Capri however have recently developed an issue. A while ago I was driving down the dual carriageway when the steering started to pull very heavily to the left, I had to put a lot of strength into turning the steering wheel right to keep it straight, short...

Re: Simply Ford 2015
Nice photos of the day guys, weather wasn't so great at be start of the day but brightened up by the afternoon. I think I may have arrived slightly too early given the weather at 7.30am and there was prectically no que to get it by then! Also thanks for getting a shot of my red 1.6 (now a 2.0) 'L' w...

Re: 1981 Ford Capri 1.6 'L'
Great looking Capri........... Love those wheels and the grill, but not too sure about the bumpers. IMO they look best with no bumpers, but I'm too scared to go down that route with my Car. TEL is a Bournemouth registration number, do you know which garage supplied it back in 1980? It still has the...

Re: Oil filler cap popped off?
Thanks Peter.
I have been burning oil for some time and when having the tappets adjusted around six months ago was advised the piston rings were fairly worn.
I'll be keeping my eye out for another 1.6 or a 2.0 I guess!

Oil filler cap popped off?
Hi all Recently been having issues with my 1.6 pinto engine cutting out at junctions on the odd occasion and idling very low, decided to check what was going on and potentially adjust fuel mixture and found my oil filler cap missing and my engine bay covered in oil? Got home and apparently girlfrien...

Overheating issue
Every time I post a query here they tend to be solved by someone (last time points and condensor!) so hoping someone might be able to help Basically my Capri 1.6 'L' overheats quite quickly when in standstill traffic (say 10mins or so) to the point where I'm reguarly having to pull off the road and ...
