Re: New Forum Software

Andrew, I think the annoying scrolling one is a 'hot topic' indicator - i.e. more than a set number of replies. I'm guessing 20 or 25. Thanks Peter, You appear to be spot on. The number of replies seems to be 25 to classify a topic as "hot". Is it that the stars mean it's a thread you hav...

Re: Front wings

Hi Les,
The easiest way to tell is to feel above the outer headlights on the underside of the wing. The genuine wing will be double skinned and will have a triangular/D-shaped cut-out.

You might get lucky and find some old stock in a local car accessory shop. I couldn't find any at all online.

Awesome, there's a "quick links" button (top left) where you can view useful things like "new posts" and "active posts" etc. I love this feature on other forums, am glad we have it too! JC, You appear to have a thorough knowledge of all things forum related. On the mai...

Hi Columbo,
The site looks German, but the red Zakspeed has Swiss plates. Which are the relevant photos you refer to? Do you think they were just copied from that site?

Re: Project: Improve Dim Dials

Totally didn't spot this first time around. Great guide, wish I'd had this when I did mine! B.b. I also put white dials on mine, it's perhaps almost *too* bright now. Thanks for your comments, JC. I thought I would post a guide as the question asking about solutions to dim dials seemed to get asked...

Re: Project: Improve Dim Dials

There`s a green plastic moulding around the inner edge of the clock, inside, so it can only really be green. Steve, Thanks for clearing that up. It would appear that some informative posts had gone missing due to the forum software changes, creating a little confusion. I had a feeling that the cloc...

Re: Project: Improve Dim Dials

Yep, but they just tend to give a dim, greyish hue - especially if the filters have got a bit burnt along the way! This is a revelation! I always assumed that the dials were supposed to be backlit green, as other Fords from the same era were. Yes, I know the bulb diffuser caps are blue, but the bul...

Andy,
£250 depreciation is by far outweighed by nine months of enjoyment. What a bargain!

Hi Beakster,
Great changes, I love it! Seems to work well on Android phones too, which is just as well because I can't afford an iPhone! :)

Re: Special or 280

I bought the 10,000 miler in 2008 see Sold Section, http://www.brooklands280.com/home.html and yes it was every bit as stunning as the pictures having been repainted in 2007. Andy, I've just been drooling over the photos of your old car. What a stunner! As you said in your post, you get what you pa...

Re: Special or 280

Les, I think you have stated in an earlier post that your heart is with the 280. I think that if you bought any other model, including an injection or special, you would be wishing that you had a 280. Personally, I do like the Brooky, but I don't think they're worth the premium they command over a s...

Mike,
Yeah, like you, I'm gutted that I missed out. They sold not long after being listed for sale. It's just one of those situations where the lucky buyer was in the right place at the right time.

John, I do think it's great that you enjoy using the Capri as often as you can. I don't blame you, mine never fails to put a big smile on my face....even if I'm just popping down the road. They are just so much fun to drive. Like Andy, the vast majority of the time I don't have the radio on, I just ...

I think that John's car has to be one of the best or...

Re: mk3 2.8i capri silicone hoses

The only thing I had to change with mine was the position of the oil cooler outlets as the hoses are not long enough to reach when the connection are at the 5o'clock position so had to spin my cooler round so they were more at 9 o'clock position. That's interesting, as I had to do exactly the same ...
