Problems hot starting was always dirty plugs for me. That or the plug leads.

Stem seals are easy to spot. You'll get puffs of blue smoke out the back on start up and on a gear change, but not when cruising at a constant speed.

Head gasket is another possibility. Is there any cream cheese on the dip stick, or frothy oil?

It could just be what you describe, leaking rocker cover. Worser case you have a piston ring gone. Do you have any smoke puffing out of the oil filler at all?

They are lovely Mike, but surely unless you have a car with that exact colour door cards in, they won't match anything.

You will need to make up a longer starter motor lead. I think some people say a 2.8 one fits, but I got a longer one made up with plenty of slack.
