My 1983 1.6 Cabaret for sale(angry)

 Due to my lockup going to be demolished,I'm having to sell my Capri. I've only just bought it last year. It has an MOT until January 2021. £3700 OVNO. When I had bought it,and driven back home, the radiator burst open. So it now has a new radiator. With it being an automatic, the OE rad was a t...

Re: Accumulator

Use a pipe flaring tool. Or,leave the accumulator off,it's just a fuel dampener. Not exactly. It does indeed dampen out fluctuations caused by the pump. It's other function is to maintain pressure in the fuel system when the engine stops. Without this, the pressure dissipates, meaning it is very di...

Re: 2.8i 1986 engine rebuild

I've just bought £102,88 quid for the crank and cam pulley, and 22 quid for import duties. I'm also in the process of checking my camshaft lift,a possibility the drive train could be worn, but have measured the cam lobes and they are near the specified measurements, and the lifters/tappets

Re: Rocker arm modification?

Thankyou gents. Yes,I am aiming for a couple of mm's of extra lift. Correct Stroker, adding the extra metal to the tip won't assist in my intentions,I can see that now, because of the 0.35/0.40mm clearance. Stroker,I did see your method in full on Capripower. I couldn't see the difference, but see it n...

Rocker arm modification?

Hello everyone. I'm in the e process of rebuilding my eichberg turbo cologne and was wondering if anyone has modified the rocker arm tip by adding a millimetre or two of whatever metal it is, probably cast iron?
Thanks
Paul

Late cars don't survive after being in flood water. Classic cars minus ecu's tend to survive after fresh oil

Re: Grief over climate change

I remind people that car manufacturing has a big carbon footprint, probably a bit more for electric cars. Anyone who changes their car every few years or scraps a vehicle just because its got a couple of dents or a bit or rust they cant be arsed to sort out is causing much more global warming than ...

Re: 1983 Cabaret

:D the 1.6 pinto? I'm sure there's better. Although it's not bad for 72bhp compared to my 2 litre Cortina. The 1.6 does feel it on an incline.
