Re: Ford Sierra £80k.!!
For £49k I'd go proper American muscle, get something seriously meaty like a 7.2L Dodge Charger! If it was blue oval, I'd still get a nice early 'stang

Re: Diff Oil change
And do please make sure you can undo the filler plug before you remove the rear cover and drain all the oil out. If the 3/8" ratchet doesn't work (it did on mine) then a set of Stillsons or decent mole grips will do the trick. Once out I believe it share the same thread with plumbing fittings ...

Re: Diff Oil change
Not at all, there`s a filler plug on the passenger side of the differential casing, you can see it just behind the exhaust pipe, it`s either a 10 or 11mm square drive but if it`s not too chewed up a 3/8" ratchet will fit: That's absolutely perfect thanks Steve for the piccie, that's great

Diff Oil change
Afternoon all, Apologies if this is a bit of a dunce questions but the Haynes book of uselessness is pretty thin on how to do this... I have the later diff/axle as it's for my laser so think its an Atlas (??) I know that there are the bolts on the back of the casing to take it off, change the gasket...

Re: bit late for halloween but
I know they've done it for short sections of Star Wars as well - in Rogue One right at the end they green screened Peter Cushing (died in 1994) and a young Carrie Fisher into some scenes and that was in 2016 and was pretty impressive, could barely tell it was green screen at all!

Re: Late starting heater
Are you sure it's actually working? As in when you turn it on it makes a noise and comes on? If it does I'd be surprised as this sounds like the common issue of the fan not working at all, and when you start moving the air is pushed through the car so will work when you're moving but not when you're...

Re: Door Lock: Removal and Reassembly
Thanks for the link, i'll measure what I have left later (it was cracked and missing a section, when I took it off it broke in two!) and see if they have a serviceable part :) Instead of trying to reconstruct the washer, it might be easier to measure the diameter of the barrel and buying a pair of ...

Re: Door Lock: Removal and Reassembly
Hi Danny, It's good to hear that the project is nearing completion! Is the deterioration of the washer the cause of the lock issues? Mine was, as the in and out movement of the barrel allowed the spring to jam between the barrel and the housing. 1. I just used some washers I had lying around, but y...

Re: Door Lock: Removal and Reassembly
Hi Andrew, Two quick questions.... 1. the washer you mentioned at the keyhole end of the barrel that could be replaced with a fibre washer - do you have a link where to get a fibre washer or replacement from at all? Mine are buggered! 2. When I finally get to the end do I have to have a cuppa or can...

You've done the hard bit, it's plain sailing from here.... Perhaps the roll pin bit was difficult because you weren't wearing your lucky stripy socks! Andrew. Haha unfortunately for me those socks have basically had it - need to find some new lucky socks with less holes  You seem to take...

Re: Rear No plate
Plastic lugs were such a ball ache - mine where ruined on all three cars
I eventually cut the bolts holding the plate in place off with a trusty angle grinder and just double-sided-taped the plate back in place again, much easier

I've been following this thread like a TV soap addict glued to the box awaiting Emmerdale's next instalment. So I'm pleased to see that piece of good news Danny :) You must be relieved. Just glad to be done with this small saga so I can get stuck on step 2 instead of being stuck right at the start ...

Re: Door Lock: Removal and Reassembly
It worked! Got the drift pin, delicately tapped it with rubber mallet, the pin came more or less straight out
Obviously the first ones just must have been shit!!
Thanks for the suggestion from Martin to get proper pins, and also for offering to help with the parts if I couldn't make it work

Was keeping my eye on them, but they're just too far away for me to collect Don't forget that you can use a courier. I used one once to collect a driver's seat from someone selling one on here, was a couple of hundred miles, was only about £15. It was all done online too. I didn't realise it would ...

Re: Cover or storage?
I've just renewed my insurance and they stipulated that if I left my car within 'X' radius of my home address but not on the driveway they wouldn't insure it so if you do go down the garage route make sure you check this in case you can't be bothered one day and park in the street! I'm going to brea...

There have been a set for sale on Gumtree for at least 2, maybe even 3 years, asking price £1650, cant think why they haven't been snapped up :xd: :xd: :xd:  Stupid money! I was out looking for some orange tartan recaros for the 3L - might give up considering the cheapest set I've seen was £80...
