Re: Cassette player

Has the dash fascia in your car already been modified ? Probably the vast majority have been Originally the dash fascia would have had a central rectangular cut out with spindle holes to left and right,to suit the way most stereos were made at the time. If the stereo ever went wrong and had to be me...

Re: Shocks - Normal Vs Gas

Back in the day the belief was that gas shocks tended to be better at MOT time. I never got to the bottom of whether that was because they actually lasted that much longer or just that any leaks would be less evident to the MOT tester.

Re: Breakdown Cover

There just seems to be an assumption made in the insurance industry that uninsured drivers aren't worth pursuing as they probably haven't got any money. I find that thinking odd as even if they are broke at the time they wont always be so there should be something put in place to collect money from ...

Is it a Pinto or a V4 ?

There is a massive amount of knowledge on Pintos, just about every aspect of this engine is both well documented and discussed regularly on a number of forums so there is always someone to help

Re: Stolen!

Thanks for the link to PJ Covers, Ive ordered another cover and a lock. I first wondered if they had been put off taking the car as it had a cable into the house which they might have thought was to do with security (it was just to run a battery optimiser). But if that was the case they would have j...

Re: Stolen!

Very odd. I got up this morning to find someone has nicked the Stormforce cover off my Capri in the drive. The car wasnt touched, in fact the dust sheet i had on the car between it and the Stormforce cover is still there sitting over the roof and tops of the doors. Whilst clearly relieved the car wa...

Looks very decent for the money. Youve sold a few cars on here over the years, most have looked pretty good so this should be a good deal for somebody.

There was a very old post knocking around from someone who was drumming up interest on having a few sets made.

If anyone does make them Id be interested.

Re: 1987 Ford Capri 1.6 Laser (2.0S lookalike)

My advice is to get an MOT on it - it will make all the difference in the world. Unfortunately a lack of MOT does just end up putting off so many potential buyers. Although you know that it will pass easily and you only haven't had it done because there doesn't seem a point- thats not the way that a...

Re: 3.0 Ghia - Problems

For £ 250 for a new genuine Weber 38/38 (or £ 75 for a Chinese copy) it may just be worth replacing rather than laying out on labour to a garage.

As said, if in doubt try it with a borrowed carb and you will know straight away.
