If you want to make sure no one drives off with your pride and joy, just remove the king lead off the starter motor before you go. That should take any thief a while to work out, and I doubt they would have a spare lead in their pocket.

diff and gearbox noise
<t>Hey reaper<br/> <br/> I've had 3 mkII escorts and two capris, and all of them have had a diff whine to some degree. Audible at 40mph plus is pretty good compared to an escort I had. Like you say, its down to the gears meshing. if the care has ever stood for a long time in its life, only the botto...

<t>..porsche stop in a shorter distance than a fiesta? Why, if the fiesta was going faster ofcourse. Seriously though, you are right in what you say, but in reality lets take the following into account. <br/> <br/> The porsche will have bigger (and probably better) tyres, so more surface contact wit...

Lets be sensible...
<t>To be fair, we are all probably guilty of speeding. But who can honestly say they speed without realising it? Lets be honest, we all know exactly how fast we are going at all times. That little orange needle we all have in our dash's is always in our minds, mostly because we all want to see how f...

<t>Im pretty sure that regular lamp posts spaced 100 feet apart (or so) consitutes a 30mph speed limit zone, unless otherwise stated. Thats why you dont see many 30 signs in towns. <br/> <br/> If you want to get off the speeding ticket, try contesting that the speed camera had been calibrated that d...

Please help....
<t>Ok, I posted this question a few posts back, but I REALLY need someone to help. I've nabbed a 'leccy coil, dissy and ignition amp from a sierra. I'm trying to fit them to my 2.0 Sport that I have just done an engine transplant on. Everything else on the car is sorted and it would be such a shame ...

you could always...
<t>you could always just push the indicator and wash/wipe stalks back a few cm's. They are pretty sturdy and should bend nicely. I did this on mine when I fitted a mountney, and I like the stalks being closer to my fingers. You dont have to take your hand off the wheel to indicate. I did the same wi...

Electronic Ignition (again)
<t>Ok, so I got my electronic ignition from a dead sierra (was on top of a van which was awkward), but have one question about the ignition amp. In all the diagrams and manuals, they say that I should have a black/green wire, yet I have a red/black (as well as the black/red). Can I just assume that ...

<t>I had exactly the same thing and it was really bloody annoying. Although my capri seemed only to make the noise when loads of people were around. <br/> <br/> Just as a test, spray all the prop shaft uj's (front middle and rear) with some WD40 or similar. I'll bet the noise will be a lot quieter f...
