Re: Rocker Cover - Any Model
Unfortunately I don’t have a spare but how do you race a rocker box top? Fling it as far as you can? Stick it on a roller skate at the top of a hill?

Side window trims
Afternoon all. Quick question. How do the side window trims come off? I want to start stripping it ready for it’s respray and the body shop said I have the option to save myself some beer vouchers and do the strip down of trim. If they’re a royal pain in the lower back area I’ll leave it to the prof...

Re: Decal and badge
It wouldn’t be cheap but you should be able to have one made at a sign makers. They should be able to cut anything out of vinyl but you will pay for the privilege, that’s if you can find stripe width. Or you can take educated guesses from photos, mock up a range of stripes in paper and see which siz...

Re: Big hesitation.
It sounds like it could be an ignition or timing issue, are you sure that the vacuum advance is free and working? Was it timed static or running with vacuum detached? What is it set to BTC? I assume all the ignition components are in good order, dizzy cap and rotor arm and plugs still need to be in ...

Re: Wandering Timing Magical Mystery!
Yeah, that is unusual  Just to check..Are you timing it and checking it with the vacuum advance removed? It will move under vacuum as normal so would give different readings when checked. If it’s changing and the distributor body is tight (and it’s drive gear is correct) then thinking about e...

Re: Hello...lost laser making a comeback
Now where was I...ah yes...pipes. All pipes were fabricated up using some lovely cupronickle replacement so that should outlset the fabricobbled steel I spent months sticking in by a factor of several. And then I filled it with lots of lovely fresh brake fluid. And it doesn't leak. And for the first...

Re: laser front and rear seats ,
Ah shucks, and here’s me waiting for a set of laser seats and I never even knew some were on the go. Which is probably a good job as it would have been a bidding war. Still, if anyone knows of a laser drivers seat (all seats if I gotta but mostly just the drivers) or a full matching set in grey that...

Re: Weber 34 ICH
That’s what looks to be happening (the pump thing Bug mentions not the Jet) But the lever seems to be fully out when I’ve looked at it in fault condition. Indeed last time it corrected I turned it off for a few minutes to move the cars around so I could get it on the drive and it was fine. But a sto...

Re: Weber 34 ICH
Fine suggestion I’ll give that a bash, I don’t know when I will next get it out (winter will soon stop play) but that will just tell me something is sticking, sadly, not what. It’s making me not want to drive it much, it becomes a proper little mare to driver when it throws a wobbler!

Weber 34 ICH
anyone got any experience with these? It’s all set correctly (good idle speed, good emissions) but at random points it won’t idle (just drops to nothing when the clutch goes in) without choke and runs like a bag of spanner’s at low throttle. Having checked the carb during one of its intermittent fai...

so...now the rear brakes are finished IMG_20201115_144204small.jpg mmmm....shiny, its time to have a look at the servo and hydraulics: IMG_20201121_121356small.jpg Awww...look how teeny tiny it is. Explains why you need to give it such a shove. Not like a modern car with massive servo where you brea...

Re: Capri spotted on tv
Well, nearly TV, YouTube on my telly. Goodwood road and race channel have just (well, last week) posted the 78th member meeting historic races, Jake Hill in a 3 litre Capri drifting it round goodwood being chased by a 302 boss mustang in 1 race and a Camero in the other. Absolute nip and tuck, big A...
