On those cops-with-cameras type shows, I've seen ruffians get arrested for swearing in the street. A public order offence?pbar wrote:He hasn't actually commited a crime

Re: Law & Order
What a depressing situation when the law enforcement authorities don't enforce the law. In LA they promise "to protect and to serve'. No such luck in this country.

Hi,
I don't know about that, I didn't have to on mine. I suppose I'd better check that the column is screwed to something!

Nick,
That's a good deal, the socket set looks like it could come in handy.
Personally, I prefer having the actual magazine as opposed to the downloads. It's just not the same is it?

Re: my temprature gauge has stopped working
Dan,
I forgot to say that the cause of the problem could be poor electrical contact at the back of the temp gauge.Did you reassemble it properly? It's still worth checking and cleaning the contacts.

Yes, that's correct. Should be a good series judging by the short trailer.

Good call. I would have done it that way myself..........if I'd thought of it at the time! Sounds a bit easier than my way.

Re: Is this a Mk2 or Mk3?
This is where the seller is getting his information from. Hi, Unless I've misread the posts on that forum, the way I interpret what is being said is that the twin headlights were fitted to the US Mk2 and carried over in 1978 to the UK version of what we call the Mk3. I can't see any posts that sugg...

Your photos and write-up will also be a useful guide for anyone else who wants to undertake such a task in the future. and then at least done a test run to check the adjustment was ok... I can understand your mechanic m...

Re: Top Dash Removal *Help please*
Your guide to removing the dash is superb. Cheers Nick. I only quickly wrote the guidelines above, but I think I've remembered everything! I hope it all makes some sort of sense. Another point to note is that it's useful to have lots of space available to lay out all the removed parts, and label th...

. Does that sound right to you :?: Or am I barking up the wrong tree :? Neil, To be honest, I haven't got a clue about that. Stevemarl will know for sure, hopefully he'll answer that for you. However, for a comparison I've taken the resistance measurement in exactly the way you described and the re...

Hi Toby, As has been said, I've recently removed my dash, and can tell you it's not all that bad to remove it, but you will need a good few hours and the patience of a saint! I also recommend taking photos or drawing diagrams as you go, especially if your memory is not very good! Once the lower dash...

Mike, Well done that man! It just goes to show the significance of being in the right place at the right time. It can't be planned, it's just the luck of the draw! If this story is true, and I have no reason to doubt your word, I have to ask......what was the seller thinking? Doesn't it make sense t...

Re: Overheating 2.8
With the engine cold the temp sensor reads 507.3 ohms. I don't know if this is correct, so it would be interesting if anyone has a DVM could possibly check theirs and see what reading they get. Hi Neil, If no-one else has done so by then, I'll check mine when I get home from work tomorrow. Just to ...
