Re: Is my Laser Blue, Blue or pehaps, Blue?

Righty ho, Paris or Mineral then. I read somewhere about there being a sticker in the boot somewhere which gives a colour code, so I'll have a dig tomorrow. Hopefully clean the diff outer too to try and ID where it's leaking (no mess on drive, but signs of leak on case). There may still be a a colo...

As Peter says...
I believe the only blues offered in 1986 were Paris and Mineral (both metallic).

Re: Laser 1600

Just in case these photos help with sorting the balance of sound/wiring of your ESRT 32PS, heater/fan and what it look slime with the dash/clocks etc out.... Dropping the steering column helps ensure that the black instrument applique is removed without the sharp metal retainers gouging the undersid...

Re: Laser 1600

The fun continued this afternoon. I found the original radio rattling around in the back of the car whilst I was stripping it out when it first arrived. I also found lots of bits in the glovebox, and as I discovered today that included all the knobs for the radio/cassette. After realising the facia...

Re: Laser 1600

Well today saw the bumper go back on, and the indicators fitted. Grille etc refitted, and I've put the drivers side seatbelt back together. Taxed online just now, so tomorrow will be first trip out, likely as far as the petrol station and back. Apparently there's decorating to be done so I sense a ...

Re: Haynes Breakfast Meets 2019

Service kit for my weber 32/36 DGAV arrived yesterday. I've spent a few hours today removing the carb and dismantling and cleaning it with white spirit and a toothbrush. New diaphragms, needle valve, O rings, gaskets installed. Noticed that the float height was out by about 8mm and the accelerator p...

Re: Gaiter

The gaiter should sit over the black bit as you have it in the photo. There should be a plastic collar (black?) which sits at the top of the gaiter, clamping the material. The collar stops the gaiter collapsing down on the lever but still allows movement when different gears are selected. Not sure i...

Re: Gaiter

Not sure if it applied to all models/years. Originally there may have been a rubber/foam insulator which went where the gap is at the base of the gear stick/transmission tunnel opening. The grey consol trim and gaiter sit over the gap. I cut some foam to size and used this to plug the actual gap (he...

Re: Laser 1600

What with work and hiking around Cornwall I've not been at the car much. The sun was out today though, so after lunch I sat in the sunshine and continued with stripping the head. I took the rockers off last week, and today was valve removal. Mindful of losing the collets I was cautious not to compr...
