Re: 2.8 bilstein strut top mount knocking

if so can anybody recommend where to get new roller top mounts from, or is the way forward converted billys with coil overs? Hi Mart, There is some useful information about suspension upgrades on the Tickover website. If you haven't already read the page, it's worth taking a few minutes to do so. h...

Re: Type 3 Gearbox Shifter wanted!

But whilst probably worth looking at, it`s worth noting that some models although having same box may have a specific gearlever due to slight differences in interior layout etc. Good point well made by a knowledgeable Ford aficionado! However, it might just be possible that the same situation exist...

Hi Everyone, Just a quick update to illustrate what I was saying in my earlier post about the poor fitting vents. This is how they look if you place the vents in their correct positions. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d200/me_and_the_major/Rubbish/20141227_175429_zps0c648081.jpg Not a very good f...

Re: MkII 1976 1.3L w/factory engine

Hi, I agree with what the others have said about posting some photos. The 1.3 is a rare car now and it will be great to see a survivor being restored to it's former glory. It's sounds as though you have the motivation to make this car great again. Following on from what Peter has said in his post, y...

That sounds about right! I'll try the clay bar on my Toyota later on today, and see if I can get any results on that.

Hi Les,
Thanks for that! I've used Autoglym for years and have been really happy with the results. I've tried other brands, but have always returned to the best.

Re: Type 3 Gearbox Shifter wanted!

Hi, Have you tried Martin at Caprigear and the Capri Club? They might be able to help. According to Burton the type 3 was fitted to several other Fords over the years. http://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-guides/tuning-guide-pages/ford-type-3-gearbox-guide.html If the gearsticks are that hard to get ho...

Re: ford capri 2.8

By the way have you tried the clay bar yet? Hi Les, Sort of......I bought an Autoglym clay bar which comes in a set with the detailing spray and a microfibre cloth. The Autoglym cloths are really useful because they seem to be a lot softer than the ones I've bought from other places. I must admit I...

Re: Questions about electric aerials, blower motors etc

what does that clicking noise mean exactly. is it an internal aerial relay, is the aerial stuck, are some of the teeth inside broke and its skipping ove the broken teeth. Hi, I'm not sure, but it doesn't sound healthy. You might as well have a play around with it to see if you can get it working. I...

Dan,
The ones I bought are perfectly good, and they'll be fine. Whichever LEDs you buy, if they don't fit, be sure to trim the LED cases themselves. Don't be tempted to drill larger holes in the instrument cluster as the bulb holders won't be able to clip into position.

Re: Questions about electric aerials, blower motors etc

If the aerial just clicked and did not raise, it sounds as though the aerial motor is faulty. Do you get the same clicking from the aerial when you switch on the radio with the ignition on? That would prove that the wiring is OK. If not, it's just a case of methodically checking everything as descri...
