Re: Weichers Strut Brace doesnt fit
Hahaha. Terra Kotta. Nice. Trouble is my 2.8 is running 347bhp on modified swaymar heads and manifolds, with re-engineered inner piston bores, mehle pistons, road race cam and twin carbs, custom prop, mustang rear axle and quaife gearbox. So i don't really need a 110bhp pinto engine thanks, but if y...

Weichers Strut Brace doesnt fit
I went to www.motorsportworld.co.uk and bought a Capri 2.8i aluminium front strut brace. Tried fitting it but it fouls the accelerator linkage. Any ideas?

Re: Ford Capri Insurance
...and yes for insurers to insure your vehicle as a classic car it needs to (generally) be before 1990 depending on insurers. It must definitely needs to be your 2nd car though and not your main mode of transport. If you cant meet with these conditions then the car must be insured on a standard priv...

Re: Where can i get the Ford Capri horn relay from?
Here is a pic of the 'horn relay'..... you're all going to tell me that it's the headlight relay aren't you.. :D It had some twin air horns on it which the guy took off before i collected it and he replaced them with the standard capri one. It worked, right up until last week. http://i274.photobucke...

Oh dear.. Well I took the grill off and on the passenger side next to the rad is a square black relay 87 86 85 40amp 4 pin which is really corroded and 2 wires go into a black ford horn bolted above it. my lights work fine but the horn stopped.

Re: Electric fan
Yeah. Got it on suck though, reversed polarity and it just isn't strong enough to draw through enough air. I reckon that it'd do a small 1.0L car, maybe even a 1.3L but not a 2.8i. I need a 12" fan with oooodles more power. Being that Kenlowes were £200 i thought bugger that and i'm now seeking...

Re: Electric fan
Ive put that exact 12 inch one on my 2.8i - what a pile of poo. It doesnt draw in enough air and consequently when sitting in traffic it overheats. I needed a bigger one, but couldn't see how it would fit as the 12 inch is a tight fit. Wouldn't buy again, i'm putting the viscous back on.

Re: my 2.8 i wont start please help
Yep - check underneath. The fuel pipe goes through the floor stiffener which people mistake for the chassis. They usually crush them and the fuel pipe inside. Recommend a blow through with an airline. I the fuel bracket next to the tank wet? Is it leaking fuel which would indicate low pressure. Is t...
