Re: 2.8 Shell Project
I think you have made the right decision. The closer to original that you can keep it the more it will be worth. Absolutely. However it is a lot more expensive. I could probably have bought a minter by the time I'm done. I don't like saving money though and i already have this one. It will be nice ...

Re: 2.8 Shell Project
Hi, Yes i noticed today. They look awesome. CCI want £288 for their new fuel tanks. Is Martin any cheaper? I'm aware they are £240 to members too. I was wondering if the concours guys will be buying them and have a spare tank to sell. It's not that I'm doing my build on a budget but i do have a long...

Re: Rollover jig
Hi there, I know some people make them out of heavy duty engine stands which would be interesting. I had thought of making one from scaffolding as there are websites that sell all the elbow joints and such, also wheels! Plus you can take it apart when not needed. I wanted to make one of those CJ Aut...

What Poly Bush?
Hi, I was just trying to price up some decent poly bushes today and found a scary price difference between suppliers. Also there are many different brands. I know to steer clear of cheap Ebay ones and especially the make your own route  My question is this; which brands good and which should I...

Re: Power Steering Rack
I bought one. A ropey second hand one. Does anyone have a link or anything to any useful info on how to refurbish these power steering racks. I know you can buy seal kits but is the a good procedure to a refurb that I could follow. I found some youtube vids of people who didn't know what they were d...

Power Steering Rack
Hi guys,
I need a power steering rack and I was just wondering if there were any other racks that would fit from say, a Mondeo or Sierra? The angle of the shaft that goes into the column looks the right angle on most but then there's the track width but the rods are adjustable so....any ideas?

That's very helpful thanks. How did you find out about the injection tanks? Maybe I should start hounding CCI about it.

Re: 2.8 Shell Project
Thanks. That is awesome news. Shame it's the Capri Club doing them though. Just been on their site and it's a little expensive! It's good to know I can get a LSD for a standard axle though. Where's the best place to get the single leaf springs? I have seen them from £160 a pair to the price that CCI...

Re: 2.8 Shell Project
I need to update my project so here it goes... I can't get a chassis tilter to fit in my garage because of my stupid door. I bought a super tall tool box from Halfrauds and my garage door wouldn't close :( . I had been thinking of selling the shell and all my other parts but then I thought maybe I s...

Re: 2.8 Shell Project
Once you get it, go out and buy some box section which matches the roll over jig and make up a frame that holds front and rear jigs together and then buy some castors. Prob cost about £40-50 but then you can wheel it around. We have a shell roller aswell in another garage for holding an old Jag, do...

Re: 2.8 Shell Project
I bought a rollover jig from rolloverjigs.com I bought the heavy duty version and have had mine mounted for some time. It was nowhere near £1000! Think mine was £260 as we also have E-Types for resto and we bough self levelling kit on top. Best money i spent soo far on the resto. worth its weight i...

Re: 2.8 Shell Project
I haven't posted in a long time. I moved house and started working full time. I have lots of money now to do my project, but no time to do it. I also have a lack of space but then that has always been the case. I have now gathered together all the welding parts I need to start my project but just ne...

2.8 Front Legs. I Need Some But...
Hi there, I need to get some struts for my shell but I don't know how much they go for now. I know a few years ago the Mk1 Escort boys were buying them up so I guess they are pretty rare now. Is it more economic to buy a set of aftermarket ones brand new or even adjustable coilovers than buy some di...

Atlas axle wanted
Hi there,
As I stated, I want an atlas axle however I don't have stupid money to waste so I will settle for a 1.6 axle for now. Just need to get my shell rollin. So whatever you have please list and state how much you would like.
Cheers

Re: Alternative Modern Petrol Tank?
Thats great but for me I need a whole injection tank, pump and sender. I don't have a lot of money so I think it will be cheaper for me to buy a whole tank with everything still on, from a modern (less than 20yo) car. I don't have clocks either so probably won't have Capri ones. I have a B5244 T3 en...

Alternative Modern Petrol Tank?
I was wondering if anyone knows of a petrol tank from a modern fuel injected car that would fit in the space where a 2.8 tank goes. I don't want to have to source and pay the extra expense of a 2.8 injection tank when I can have a newer one with a good fuel sensor. I was about to have a look online ...

Re: 3D Designs
I downloaded sketchup and then downloaded a model of a Mk3 and changed the colour of that. You can also download other wheels too. Sketchup is very easy to use and it's free.
