Re: Supercharger dry fit

Look good! Heres a tip for you, you maybe better off with a serpantine belt (the multi ribbed flat belts) rather than the toothed setup youve got there. I know on the big V8s they use toothed belt but that have valves in the intake manifold to blow-off all the unused air, such as when lifting off th...

Re: Fuse blow on capri 2.8i

have a look at the rear lights. you need to remove the two screws each side on the rear of the boot (inside the boot, above the carpet i think). the rear light clusters can become damaged and the metal bars on the backs of them short out. I had this happen on mine but it was eveytime i used the brak...

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator to me, and yes you will need it! most injection engines have them on the fuel rail.

Re: well the lack of fuel consumption continues

Am I right in thinking that theres a wire which if grounded increses fueling? I think Rob used it to increase the fueling when he supercharged his EFi? could this be the route cause? just a thought.

Re: Few hundred miles and big trouble :-(

How much of the muck has it produced in the time youve been driving the car? dont forget that under 'normal' conditions pintos would suck that in the inlet and burn it so you wouldnt even know its being produced. that looks just like mine used to, I have a catch tank about twice the size of a coke c...

Re: Possible siezure? Advice/guidance desperately wanted!

Nope, you should be good to go buddy, youve got the 2l carb there alreay and manifold, youl just need to tweak the idle mixture / speed once you get her running, same with the ignition timing aswel.

keep us post as to how you get on!

Re: Loose wires

that wire looks like the temp sender to me too, but i think the connector is original, mine has one just like it, they are the same as the fuel tank sender connectors. i think youve just pushed it onto the suppressor connector (which looks to be a spade type) by mistake. the temp sender should be lo...

Re: To Blow Or Suck?

as already said suck or blow doesnt really make any difference, but its worht noting that if you 'blow' you should use a fan designed to 'blow' and not simply swap the +ve & -ve terminals around on a 'suck' style fan as they are more inefficient this way (and more noisey too!)

you can remove it all, so your just left with the throttle spindle, you may need to leave a leaver or two on the throttle spindle there, to ensure its packed out correctly (you may get sloppy or binding throttle spindle if you dont) its been a while since i looked at one tbh. there will be a hole th...

Re: OK heres the answer that everyones always wanted !!

ok some answers: the hole in the bottom connects to the pipe coming in from the left of the top pick. that pipe heads off to the pump. the hole is a simple fine mesh filter that sits int he bottom of the pot and pushes of that pipe. no valve anywhere! the swirl pot fills from the front of the tank (...

Years ago my fan used to squeel and smell like it was burning so i removed it and reconditioned it. then about a year later the fan wouldnt switch on unless i really wiggled and pressed the switch. I took the switch out and pulled it apart. i found the contacts all blackened and corroded! (the switc...

Re: 13! MPG please help

Its definately worth checking the float height, just a mm in the wrong direction can mean flooding. it your driving under 40mph your probably still on the idle circuit and if that is tuned right then youl be buring more than you should. you need to check your ignition timing and then tune the idle m...
