Great photos, sometimes a photo is just the best thing for a description.
Any tips for removing 36 year old ones and refitting them after painting?? New ones look like they are going to be expensive!

Good to know! Only last year did i replace a pair of £10 Focus DIY ones i bought when they close down, many years ago. Its a fatmax one which seems ok, again only paid £10 for it.

Sorry i cant be more specific! Actually now im starting to wonder if they are larger but with non standard ...

rear seat belts mk3
Hi all! Does anyone know of alternative rear seat belt reels and straps/stalks that fit the mk3? I cant seem to find them (ebay has had the odd ones but they seem expensive for a mouldy old belt!) Has anyone found an alternative? Does their orientation matter? Mine is an 85 but didnt come with them ...

Re: Stuck Inner TCA Bolt/ Balljoint Nut
Have you tried turning the steering to full lock in the direction that moves the tie rod towrds the rack on that side? I seem to remember doing that to get the bolt in on mine a few months ago. It still rubs the gaitor though so mind you dont tear it!

Re: Water leak
The rear washer jet springs to mind, as a place for water to get in or maybe a split in the pipe and so leaking when used?
The sunroof / drain could also be a source but im unsure of the route the pipes take?

rev counter / tacho (dial face) for mk3 pinto wanted
Hi everyone im after a rev counter / tacho face to replace mine. I had to remove the 20+ year old white vinyl dials as they had blistered and creased up. All cleaned up ok except the rev counter where the black face has faded / dulled and has swirls all over it. I have considered replacing the white...

Re: throttle cable replacement
Removing the metal clip did the trick, although getting that back in place after was difficult, it was definately easier than not removing it. I initially didnt want to remove it as it goes down a log way behind the plastic tabs and i was concerned at how far the tabs would need to bend away to allo...

Re: BEHR heater flaps
What your describing used to be a soft thin sponge. I have recently tackled the same job. I replaced the sponge with 3mm thick self adhesive closed cell foam sheet. I used 'sticky stuff remover' to get down to the metal surface, de-rusted, painted and applied foam to both sides, trimmed the edges an...
