Blocked washer jets

Hi guys, I'm sure alot of you might have heard this trick before but here it is. I kept getting blocked jets on my windscreen washers on my BMW daily. Once I had them all cleaned out and working well, they were really blocked, I didn't want it happening again. I ended up fitting a carburettor fuel f...

Re: Cam belt age

Hi,

I never trusted when the paperwork said it had been done and changed them anyway.

As they are so cheap and fairly easy to do it seems mad to risk the damage to the engine for an unknown belt.

all the best.

Re: My Ever Changing 1985 laser!

Hi.

What engine mounts are you using for the BOB conversion? Are you using the original pinto cross member?

I'm doing the BOB conversion later this year and hoping to use the original cross member.

Glad to see another car kept on the road.

3.09:1 atlas crown wheel and pinion

Hi all. I need a crown wheel and pinion from either a 2.8 or 3.0. Getting my axle rebuilt with an lsd unit and going to get this ratio as i will be putting in a bob V6 in the car. The car is lively enough with the tuned pinto in it let alone thr cossy. Must be good condition. Full axle considered, a...

MT75 Cologne V6 deisel hybrid gearbox wanted

Hi all. As stated above I am after a Cologne V6 MT75 Gearbox with the diesel 5th gear. Going to be sticking this on the back of my 15,000 mile BOB and shoehorning it into my 2.0's. Going to swap the diff internals to 3.09:1 as well when the LSD goes in to cope. Car is lively with 140bhp through the ...

Re: 2.0's 2014

Hi all. It's been two years on from the original post and the car is going from strength to strength. I have had the rust repaired on the rear valance, both doors and the strut tops. I also got the strengthening plates put on as well. I just put the newly painted boot trim panels in, refitted the re...

Re: Wanted 32/36 carb

Hi. I tend to spend the extra money and buy a new one. By this point most of the second hand carbs are getting on a bit. I had endless headaches with second hand carbs and as soon as I fitted a new one it was like a revelation. If you are getting one through martin then I'm sure it will be half dece...

Re: HT leads

As said above check the inlet manifold gasket and the carb to manifold gasket before playing with the HT leads again. Sounds like air could be getting in somewhere which is sending the mixture out. If that fails then check the timing of the engine, points and that the vacuum advance is connected wit...

Re: Ghia Pinstripes

Is it a 2.0 or a 3.0? Our W reg 3.0 this did not have any pin stripes. As said it could have been an option rather than a standard level of trim. To be fair, standard or not, if you like them and want them on your car then go for it. The only person who has to like it is you. Someone will always hat...

fuel tank repair

Hi all. I need to get my efi fuel tank repaired. Believe it needs to be re sealed as it does not leak all the time, just when bear full. Looks like the drips were coming from the join. I used a place up north near Birmingham before to repair the return pipe join before and they did a cracking job bu...

catch can

Hi all. Been having plenty of issues with the Capri recently. Kept having a flat battery on her which turned out to be a dodgy alternator plug. Now that is sorted it flagged up another issue. I need to fit a catch tank to the engine. I have blanked the efi and have very foolishly miss placed the ori...

Re: Changing a cambelt

Will try and get it undone like that.

Otherwise it will be a trip down the engine builders to get them to get it off or get the engine in and running and get it done by my local mechanic when it goes for its MOT.

Thanks Martin

Changing a cambelt

Hi guys. Really basic one has me stumped at the moment. Haven't used the engine in my capri for near enough 3 years now so decided a cambelt change was in order to ensure reliability. I know how to set the timing marks on the crank and the cam, I know how to get the belt re tensioned and I know how ...

Re: Half shaft splines

I have been looking at the halfshafts but little confused on them. I want ones that fit the diff I buy but also fit with all the original brakes and hubs for the axle. not looking at a rear disc conversion tbh and don't have the time to do it before the car goes back on the road. Hopefully will get ...

Re: Capri Rally and Party weekend 2016

Hi all.

I will be coming to the weekend this year.

Been too long since I have seen you all.

Will be trying to bring a capri to the event but if not will have to come in something else. Only just had my time off work confirmed for it.

Hope to see you soon.

Half shaft splines

Hi all.

I know it has been a while but I am going to order my new LSD unit today and I want to make sure I get the right one.

How many splines are there on a 1985 1.6 laser halfshaft?

Hopefully car will be on the road soon so need this as it will be the last piece of the puzzle.

Thanks
