Re: Best one yet

Tom, if I wasn't sure the old biddy was dead by now I'd get her to meet your new friend. When I bought my very first Capri,a Lipstick Red with vinyl roof 1.6L Mk3, way back in Feb 1985, a little old lady who lived across the road from my parents saw it. She told my dad she was glad I had a Capri as ...

Re: 2.8i fuel

Late to the party as usual, sorry. In short, no I haven't overhauled a metering unit. Whilst the kit to do so isn't extortionate, the skill level is quite high, especially attention to detail. One scratch in the wrong place can render the unit unserviceable. Years ago, before I became proficient eno...

Yup that's the one.
I bought it from 340Truck.
Did it up for my lad, but he lost interest.

Re: Annual camping weekend - 30 June , 1 & 2 July

Great weekend chaps. Thoroughly enjoyed it as ever and great to see Martin with his 'German Capri'. Thanks also Martin for the refreshments and yes the models have gone to good homes and the flag will no doubt be out again next year. Next year booked in for the first weekend in July once again :) I...

Re: Annual camping weekend - 30 June , 1 & 2 July

Well I just had an excellent afternoon catching up with all the gang after something like 12 years. So nice to be made welcome: like it was only yesterday. Hey they even let me bring my pseudo Capri in. :) Hope the rest of the weekend goes well for you all. What a great club that you can just walk b...

Re: Side Lights/Dipped Beam

Do you have the four rivet heads on the radiator infill panel?
If so you have the dim/dip relay system mounted under there.
It could be that messing about?

Should have held out for the Ghia ones with the extended black trim that folds around the end.
Still the common old cheap ones will do for now I guess. :D

Re: Annual camping weekend - 30 June , 1 & 2 July

I have a couple of bits of Capri memorabilia. I'll bring them with me.
6' x 4' Ford Flag, two coal models and a pewter 2.8i.

Hopefully that will make up for me arriving in a BMW Z4. Not sure which one yet, currently got four :xd:

Re: What is this?! RAF Sculthorpe exploration

On the subject of ricochets (and various other Irishmen) we always felt a little uncomfortable when they stuck the nukes on the Tornados on the last day of exercises. As we initially fitted live ones both we and the RAF Policeman assigned to the HAS were live armed. At that point we still had SLRs w...

Gents you are going to find it a tad noisy, being a stone's throw from Snetterton the weekend the classic motorbikes are there.

Re: What is this?! RAF Sculthorpe exploration

Tom, I think you are correct. Always have somewhere safe to point your weapon during NSPs. (Normal Safety Precautions) As to why it is up instead of down, no idea, except it leaves the floor clear for storing stuff. However, the guard commander (been there, done that) is responsible for checking the...
