Re: Tax Exemption Age Reduction

At first, I thought as I have a left-hand-drive car I wouldn't be allowed to vote.
However, as a UK citizen I can, so it's done!

Re: Damn, he was right!

Hi steve, Is that just stress or is there some corrosion on the other side too? Something else to worry about. I believe the problem is both fatigue and a little corrosion. I had a similar problem. Like you I cleaned and degreased around the cracks after which my son welded them. The welded joints w...

Re: Bad clutch or adjustment? Also strange noise.

Hi CapriFreak Thanks for your response. I’ve watched parts of your YouTube videos, which answers a couple of questions I had. You seem to want to tackle almost anything yourself and you’ve got a 2.0 Pinto engine. According to info I’ve got, if your engine is 1974/75: Idle 700 +/- 25rpm – Ign. Timing...

After all resetting the ignition timing and doing a quick road test doesn't cost much and it could rule out one possibility of w...

Re: Bad clutch or adjustment? Also strange noise.

Hi Caprifreak, The videos you suppled were well done – I’m impressed! The ‘creaking ‘ sound could come from the pedal pivot area or a dry steel cable in its sleeve. If you can do the work yourself a can of WD 40 could help isolate the problem here. It’s certainly a cheap start! If you can, check the...

Re: Type 9 gearbox crossmember

Hello Antonia, I've just read your post below, I want to change my 4 speed gearbox with 5 speed type 9 gearbox, on my mk1 Capri and I want to know if there is one original crossmember that can be fitted. I found one crossmember from a mk3 2.8i engine, but I don't know if it will fit in mk1. The one ...

Re: Car drive height from lowest point on chassis.

Hi Vermilion,
What kind of driving height are you using on your Capri?
We have a 2.3S and at the front of the chassis rail - just in front of the short transverse crossmember - it's 140mm.

Thirty-six days

The BREXIT transition period ends at midnight on 31 December this year.

Does this mean that British owners of Capris will need a Visa, International Driving Licence etc., in order to travel to the "Capri Meets" in Luxembourg or Speyer next year?
Covid permitting of course.

Are speed cameras safe?

Are speed cameras safe? There are mobile cameras in vans, average speed cameras, cameras on open roads, cameras everywhere. Do we drive anywhere nowadays or do we go on a “mission” deemed successful if we haven’t been “whacked” by the points system? Is too much time spent checking the speedo rather ...
