You got me. Exhaust could be mk2 golf, cortina or bmw 3 series and the other bit looks like a front panel covered in black stonechip.

Re: Rear Spoiler NOS

I wouldn't pay anything near that for it, even for my 3.0S.

Got a perfectly good Halfords down the road that sells shelves full of Nick's favorite spray paint ( in black) so that will do on mine!

Re: Rear Spoiler NOS

I know the seller, he lives across the road from me and used to be one of my students years ago when I was teaching car mechanics.

Didn't know he'd got that though but he is a Ford collector.

Exquisite.

I'd be afraid to drive it after all that attention to detail. Beautiful job.

Re: New Daily driver

The Renault Passed the MOT with no advisories! Had full service, brake fluid and cooling system flushed and its driving a dream. All in all with insurance/service/MOT and buying the thing i've spent just over £750. proper bargain. :lowrider: Brilliant news. Just proves you still can get legally on ...

Re: Brake caliper restore

You can get all you need at Bigg Red caliper reconditioners. I bought a piston and seal kit for my laser and they seem fine. They also reconditioned the rear calipers on my Skoda VRs and did a good job.

Well found articles Andrew, but some lazy journalism saying the 2.0 Laser had XR3 seats;- they were the same cheepo ones that the 1.6 had.

I bought these, should be OK unless you've got some high powered system http://cpc.farnell.com/visaton/fr9-15-4ohm/loudspeaker-oval-4-ohm-9-x-15/dp/LS04224?ost=LS04224&scope=partnumberlookahead&exaMfpn=true&searchref=searchlookahead&ddkey=http%3Aen-CPC%2FCPC_United_Kingdom%2Fw%2Fsearch

Re: How Much!!

It's amazing how much they've gone up. I sold a black H-Reg XR3i about 8 years ago and had a job to get £500 for it, even with a full MOT and it being reasonably tidy. Wish i'd kept that instead of my SD1!

Re: New Car Programme on TV Soon

I have to admit that I've lost interest in all these car shows. They each seem to follow the same formula year in year out and most centre around some gobby egotistical presenter rather than the restoration work. I have no interest whatsoever in customised vehicles so that rules out many of the Amer...

Re: Floor welding

Most people just make a repair patch just bigger than the corroded/cracked area, drill a 10 mm hole in it and bolt it to the floor using a seat bolt then just weld it over the top of the existing area. To do it properly you could cut out the bad area and make a new plate using the cut out bit as a t...

Re: New Daily driver

They used to be a good comfortable car. Worked on quite a few over the years. This one looks nice and is the even rarer 3 door. First job must be cambelt and water pump unless you have proof of it being done recently. Also check rear brakes as cylinders don't last long and rear brake shoe linings ca...
