Re: Good old John !
VSR does seem to have occurred hence the tightness of the valve gaps... Not necessarily Nick, it could just be that they haven't been right before you got the car, could have been like that for years? Forgive me, but I'm still not clear on the choke, is it just that the housing marks were not lined...

Re: Good old John !
Dont suppose you renember where you got this tool from that Steve told you about mate ? The crows foot type spanners might be an option Nick, which John has linked to, I've been looking at those myself, our old friend Machine Mart sell a decent looking Clark set, but I've never tried them myself. Re: might have to store my capri away for a while
Driving with insurance is made so difficult and expensive for young people, it's amazing that anyone under the age of 30 manages it. I've looked into/sorted insurance for a couple of young un's recently. I feel for you Dan. Though it's not right, you can see why there are young uninsured drivers out...

Re: Throttle CbLE Change
The mole grips (even bought a brand new pair just for this job!) wouldn't do it for me, plug was just too tight. Hope they do for you though. But if not that that set is available to fall back on, it cuts into the rounded off head that tight, so you can then get a normal ratchet on it, it can't fail...

Re: Replacing door seals
Hi Jim, Capri Club (for example) sell aftermarket door seals, but you will have to cut and mitre the corners, etc. If you want a ready to fit replacement then a good bet may be Martin (CapriGear). You will already most likely know, but you can PM on here or contact info here - http://www.caprigear.c...

Re: Never seen one of these before
That's a very curious thing to find Dave. Very unusual. At first glance you'd think that someone had just concocted something for their own benefit/amusement, but seems to be more to it than that.

Re: 2.8i valve adjustment
Thanks I'll check that. I read an article that they get tighter over time as the valves recess into the valve seats because of unleaded petrol without the additive. Hi Anthony, lots of info on here as regards to that. Some don't really believe that it's even the case perhaps. It's difficult to know...

Hope you get a 3.0L S, just so I can see your pics of it, love those Good look with the search. I'd recommend that (if you haven't already done so) you look at the Capri Power site/forum. Good cars for sale section on there.

Re: Good old John !
Glad you had a good day Nick, sounds brilliant to be honest. That plastic bit on the accelerator which you mention used to keep coming away on mine, it's like it didn't fit properly. greased it a little, it snapped into place and has been fine since. That little thing must be causing loads of headac...
