Re: Selling my Capri
How people will approach it is dependent on how you advertise it on Ebay; whether for Auction, for a Buy It Now price or a Classified advert. Each have their merits In the case of a classified ad you will find buyers who are more likely to want to view and will be more likely to be happy with leavin...

Re: VV Carb to 34 ICH conversion kit
The difference between a base 1.6 Pinto and a 1.6 S was the presence of the 32/36 carb and a 2 litre camshaft (both are bog standard 2 litre items). This increased the bhp from 73 to to 91. (The 2 litre is between 99 and 101bhp) Received wisdom is that you can achieve at least half of this bhp incre...

Re: VV Carb to 34 ICH conversion kit
Is there a reason you aren't just swapping to a good used 32/36 Weber and 2.0 inlet manifold ?

Re: 3.0 Ghia - Problems
Theres now even an all in 1 fuel injection system that looks like a standard downdraft carb. Theyve been around as replacements for 4 barrel stuff for a while but are now being made as a 2 barrel eg. 32/36 replacement to fit on a standard manifold.

It depends very much on the condition and how complete it is etc. If you could post some photos we can all give our view.

Webcon should be able to supply a replacement float should you need it .
Cosmicbike seems to have had a good experience of them for Weber parts on his long running laser 1600 thread

Re: Fuel Pipes & Braided Brake Hoses?
I replaced the rear flexible brake hose on mine for a Hel braided one when i swapped the axle and noticed a definite improvement in pedal feel. The standard front hoses look quite new but I will probably get round to replacing them with braided ones in due course.

Re: Heater control illumination
Check that the bulb hasn't gone first before you remove the white cover. The standard black fascia itself is a vinyl sticker, mostly opaque but with coloured translucent sections for the illumination to shine through. i replaced mine a while ago as it had a few scratches. The white after market ones...

Get a price from Martin on the ones he has. My experience with martin is that if he says they are good then they will be good as new.

Re: Bond Bug with a difference.
Quick but sadly the extra weight and wind drag of the car body will shorten the life of the bike engine. When i was into kit cars the bike engined cars were usually in two states, being driven impressively fast over short distances or else on axle stands having their engines rebuilt, again. people d...

I think he meant flooding the cylinders e.g over rich fuel mix rather than actually visibly flooding out of the sides of the carb.

Re: Rear leaf springs for laser
The single leaf springs for the 2.8i will fit and will do the job perfectly. They are in use on probably the majority of 4 cylinder cars now . Theres no need to change anything else either- though having said that if any of the bushes look worn its an ideal opportunity to replace them with Superflex...

Re: Capri 2.8 mystery
The mystery continues. When you pulled up outside my house the other day I could swear you had a shark grey interior. A couple of hours and a few coffees later and it had turned into half leather. The shark grey looks great in my 1983 car and we both now have age appropriate interiors. Excellent res...

Re: A new classic
It has to be said I do adore the look of the current Mustang. With the styling and finish Ford have managed to make it downright prestigious as well as somehow every inch a Mustang, even though like Dr Who the car changes with every incarnation. Hang on, paint it green and give it a different name, ...
