Re: Newbeeeee .....engine size change 1.6 to2.0

Forget drums buy disk kit.

https://www.burtonpower.com/rear-brake- ... c12at.html

Buy silicone hose kit they last longer, they can be bought black if you want to keep original look.

All polyurethane bushing is suggested too.

Re: Ford capri laser 2.0 or capri 2.8i ???

I take it that your not keen on the Essex V6 then! Crank broke, camgear failed, lost pushrods, heads flooded with oil with high pressure oil pump. With tuning camshaft + bettter exhaust gave +15bhb (to 150bhb same as stock 2.8...) and fuel consumption rise to horrible 20l+/100km I agree with ...

Re: Ford capri laser 2.0 or capri 2.8i ???

Have the best of both worlds and get a 3 litre Essex engined Capri instead, no injection system to worry about and more torque than the 2.8 Cologne engine as used in the 2.8 injection and the Essex V6 sounds better too! Wayne 3.0 is like wonky dinosaurus that makes clonking noice because of horribl...

Re: Oil pressure

Id replace the oil pressure light sender just to eliminate it. You'd think that they would be more reliable but Ive had more crook oil pressure warning systems than actual oil pressure problems . Its also possible that your relief valve isn't closing properly . You say the light blinks ....what doe...

Re: Oil pressure

My initial thought is if you have removed the oil cooler the oil is running hotter with a lower viscosity. I don't know if 60w compensates for that. My feeling is Ford thought the cooler necessary so maybe that is the problem but I'm no expert on that side of things. Need to add that I am using E85...

Oil pressure

Hello, I have some issued with oil pressure. The patient is 2.8 V6. Driven 7.000km since last restoration. Since I had some issues with oil I used before I changed Mobil Peak life 5w-50 to Castrol Super Car 10w-60 and gave some extra ZDDP additive. I removed oil cooler and doubled the engine breathi...

Re: What is it with oil

The thing you need to remember that times have changed and there is often a better modern alternative. ie yamaha , in the 70's speced 10w40 oil for the gear box on its 2 strokes ......who knows why , maybe they had a few thousand liters all branded up , but anyway there is (and was ) better stuff a...

Re: What is it with oil

I used to run 5-w50 Mobil like 20 years. Withouth no problems. Quite a great oil since it has ZZDP that every older engne needs. https://cdn.autodoc.de/uploads/360_photos/9030182/h-preview.jpg I changed to Castrol Edge Super Car (10w-60) since I had oil breathing problems. https://cdn.autodoc.de/upl...

Isn't this temperature sensor?

Check the markings and try burton power.

At least it looks little bit same.

Re: Cologne camshaft comparison side by side - anyone know?

It isn't all about camshaft. I have 2.8V6 and using V6T21 camshaft. I have 10.9mm lift because I have rockers that have ratio on 1.6 instead of 1.47 (something like that cologne rockers could also be like 1.3x ratio) that are stock. I got about 176bhb (rear wheeels) NA with my engine withouth exhaus...

It snows quite often here and there has been about -15 degrees for a week now. Boring Toyota need to handle the cold weather. https://i.imgur.com/UHwovz3.jpg https://i.imgur.com/UTgAHhp.jpg Car is sitting on four car stands so tires won't be getting unshaped. Re: Car drive height from lowest point on chassis.

What is stock ride height for 2.8i and 3000 GTXL? Hi, I don't have dimensions for ride height, but only this: Dimensions from ground to top of wheelarch for 2.8i (on 205/60 VR13 tyres inflated to 1,95bar) with 1/2 tank of fuel should be: Front - 22" - 22.5" Rear - 22.5" - 23" Fr...

Re: Car drive height from lowest point on chassis.

What kind of driving height are you using on your Capri? What is lowest height in your countries legislation? My drive height from lowest point at the moment is something like 115mm (~4,5"). Our legilation requires minimum of 80mm (3,15") That's a very interesting question Mr. Bond. I did...

Re: Esso Fuel - No Ethanol

30% more fuel for same power as before. But in my case since power rised then maybe +50% fuel consumption on peak power. Ah that makes more sense. Thank you. Your initial statement seemed to read more power for same fuel. Need to add that E85 has properties to clean engine, if you look under valve ...

Re: Esso Fuel - No Ethanol

Am I right in thinking it’s mainly rubber fuel components ethanol attacks? Or does it do the nylon fuel lines as well? Olly W I changed my cars copper fuel lines to An-Teflon fuel lines when I noticed fuel lines were too small. Inside core is plastics, I think nylon works well with ethanol. Ethanol...

Re: Esso Fuel - No Ethanol

It is just a matter of using Viton-O-rings. I am going with E85, running great so far for 3 years. Totaly Supreme fuel compared to 98E5, since it same as 106 octane and burn colder, so allows more exhaust flow, also you can get 2-3 ignition advance on full power. Only fault is that it won't work wel...

Open pictures in paint, then resize them maybe to 30% from original size and then save in JPG format.
You can also upload them in services like imgur and copy the IMG link here.
