Re: Capri Assembly Line

There's just something about car assembly line and factory pics. This is Halewood January 1969. Makes you think doesn't it, I know my Capri came from the Reich, but it was still built by a bunch of men, all in one factory essentially. Today it's bits from here, computers from there, shared bodies, ...

Feeling safe at night

..it's getting more and more common to hear this phrase. "Women don't feel safe walking through a city at night", for instance. Telling people they should "feel safe" is some of the worst advice society gives out. There is a huge difference between "feeling" safe and ac...

Re: A funny forum passtime...

As my olde mate (God rest his soul) used to say when you feel embarrassed or you're unexpectedly on the spot.. "feel the rush!"

Love the pub analogy. Was it Oscar Wilde that said: "there's only one thing worse than being talked about... Not being talked about." 🖤

Re: A funny forum passtime...

I wonder how the members would feel if/when they pop back though and see that they're being talked about? :? Same way you and I will feel when somebody dredges up one of our posts... there are a few (most to be honest!) I've made 10-15 years ago that are so cringe to me now.... I could delete them,...

Re: A funny forum passtime...

Today's winner should have gone a lot further than it did, I remember that thread, but I don't remember the colossal levels of utter tripe that the birthday boy contributed to it, nor "the owner" (yeah right) of that stolen Capri chastising us for not dobbing in this Simon Cox guy to the c...

Re: Public Information Films

So now we have cringe inducing child friendly ones. Boooo. Give me people being electrocuted by substations and mangled by trains any day! I always remember the "Robbie" film that was shown in schools. The one where the children were playing on railway tracks and one of them got his foot ...

Reported for being heightist. Shit. Ok here goes... Dear fellow Laser Pagers, I recently wrote a reply on this thread, in which I referred to a green-suited gentleman. In my unthinking, straight white-man's hateful colonial ignorance, I referred to him as short. I have since reviewed this post and ...

I like the incredibly violent ones My favourite one for being incredibly patronising was the "Go left" from a few years ago. Look, it's "Les" from Phoenix Nights! Apparently, the PIFs of today are made this way because they deemed the old scary / gory ones (the best ones) u...

Re: Radiator/expansion tank cap

I loved Pong! I hven't really played any games for a while, but with Pong etc, you could just pick up and play as and when. Modern games are quite involved and you need to be able to dedicate several hours in one sitting to get anywhere in them. Andrew. I know what you mean, I'm currently playing a...

Last time I went on the dodgems, it was the opposite experience, the saddo jobsworth ringleader, or whatever he's called, kept barking orders to anyone breaking formation like a camp commandant. They should have been called the 'drive carefullyems'. I ran into him and broke his ankles, then he colla...

T never had one chewed and I don't know anyone who has either. Also re. vinyl collections, completely agree! it`s worth remembering that an LP was also a relatively expensive item back in the day. Maybe I was particularly poor (?), but I remember saving my spends for a single - albums were a Christ...

Re: Radiator/expansion tank cap

Though I haven't experienced tape chewing, I have transferred the whole tape reels onto donor cassettes when the old cassette had a fault, and that gives a great feeling also. Yes me too! I trod on one.. can't remember if it was a game cassette or a music tape, but crushed it... so took it and anot...
