Re: Bike Carbs expelling fuel from breather

Got her started up, but fuel gushing quite freely from the breather, I think, circled in red below: https://photos.app.goo.gl/SRERwZwFk7YKPMfb8 Instinct was that I'd not set the fuel pressure regulator, but it was set to 2, same as I had it before with no issues. Could be perhaps I just pushed exce...

Re: Another expensive 3.0S

Beautiful car and sounds great, but for that money I would want the roll cage, harnesses and door speakers gone. Not sure about the side pipe either, would have to be twin rear exit as per normal :agree: What's up with the oil pressure? Looks to me to be much too high. Something that high could blo...

Nice car with low ownership and mileage but been buggered about with and £50 K is more than I paid for my first house.

Re: Mk4 Raleigh Chopper

I had an orange chopper with the t-bar gear change when I was a kid. It wasn't the most stable of bicycles and when I got a bit older I sold it and added my savings and bought a Peugeot 10 gear racer. That was about like giving my old mum a Porsche 911 turbo to go and do the shopping. The racer was ...

Re: fuel pump

I agree with Nemo but also check that your carb needle valve isn't sticking, those little buggers can cause a whole world of hurt at times.

Failing this you need to pull out your tank sender/pick up and have a good look at it and the inside of the tank.

Re: The News

Another example of the BBC being PC and woke whatever that is is that there is a large RO-RO car transporter ship on fire in the English Channel. It is full of electric cars and some of them have gone up. The ship is still burning after several days and is now listing to quite an amount but I haven'...

Re: The News

I'm thinking about voting for reform as well. My MP is the infamous Steve Baker whom I've met many times and he, face to face, seems a reasonable bloke but I'm sick of the lurch to the PC and the left of the rest of the party.. FFS they had an 80 seat majority when Boris won the election and they ha...

Re: The News

:agree: With both of you. Politicians these days are afraid of their own shadows for fear of getting a Boris style shagging from the press. I say censor the fucking press and make the law of Parliament over and laws of prcedent passed by nimby pimby left wing judges who loke all the wokeness going o...

Re: fuel pump

Have you tried "priming" the system, ie take the hose off at the carb and suck the fuel through? I have had this problem with mine when they've not been run for a long while and sometimes starting the engine with a drop of petrol down the inlet is the only way to get them going. The other ...

Re: Viscous Fan Spanner

I don't use a spanner for them, never have. I find if you have a long thin chisel just place it on the right hand side of one of the flats and give it a bloody good twat with a hammer. The only time I never got one off like that was when some prick had put loctite on the thread which is not necessar...

If it gets to the stage that you want to get the hardened valve seats there is a place in Wycombe, CK engineering, at Cressex who do a good job at a reasonable price.

Hi Tom, I didn't even realise your car needed so much work. It looked great the last time I saw you and it. (Brooklands?)

Monitor this carefully Dan, check them again in a few month's time. If the exhausts keep tightening up it is time for a head job I'm afraid and not of the pleasant kind. :D :o :o

Re: Another wierd ebay auction

"A pile of dog shit boat looking death trap" At least the seller's honest. A lot of kit cars and "specials" back in times gone by were never correctly registered and just left as Mini Clubman or Ford Escort rather than registering them under the nane of the kit. The SVA test in t...

Re: Our Fiesta Stolen

UPDATE ON FIESTA Police rang Siobhan yesterday less than 48hrs after she contacted them to report the Fiesta Stolen and they have closed the case. Not enough to go on. Suppose they at least rang Siobhan to explain. Hes pretty certain the Fiesta is in a container on a ship to Europe by now as it was...

Re: Our Fiesta Stolen

Oh Nick, sorry to hear this. It's an awful feeling when someone pinches you car; it's happened to me twice now. Both times were Sierras, firstly my beloved Cossie 3 door then a very rare 2.0 iS. In many ways I hope they don't find your car as it is spoiled now but finding another in as good a condit...

Again thanks everyone and Nick I won't be having too hot a curry, I prefer Chicken Rogon or Bhuna or something like that. Loads of poppadoms and a keema nan as well as a few pints of Kingfisher are a must as well!
